The City Of Minneapolis ITS
I was originally contracted to program a reporting system in VB.NET / SQL Server
that was abandon by someone quitting. After successfully completing the project I
was brought into the ITS department of The City of Minneapolis to help negotiate
a new software design with the City Attorneys office and a contracted software
firm. Acted as a systems analyst and project manager on this project that was
part of their Integrated Criminal Justice System. Later I was given the title of
Director of Object Architecture. Effectively, it was my responsibility to
architect the object-based design methodology for the City. Assisted in the
development of the Citys IT infrastructure and was asked to develop a starting
architecture for the Integrated Criminal Justus System (became CriMNet) that was
co-authored by the State of Minnesota.
The City Of Minneapolis Police
Programmer/Analyst for a very visible time keeping project. This project had
extensive data modeling and needed to be architected to allow for the continuous
business rule changes based on union rules. This was also a secure project due to
the nature of the data. Developed the project plan and architected the process to
enhance the project with web services using Java and XML/XSL. I worked directly
with the CIO for executive statuses to the city counsel.
