Quality Assurance Analyst/Client Support-Interfaces

Evaluated and tested newly modified HL7 interfaces. Conducted compatibility
tests with vendor and also conducted scenario testing with many different
hospital staff from around the country, to prove system validity in the test
environments before moving changes to the production environment.
Evaluated system setup and ran a tool to simulate medical system orders flowing
from Mayo to the client and back. The process produced a final product that moved
the company forward in setup of hospitals using the software that will enable
growth and enhanced usability in the hospital systems.
Verified that programs functioned according to user requirements and established
guidelines, producing quality systems that gave the company the ability to
maintain leadership in the market niche.
Executed test cases that were used for validating the converted system. Ensuring
that future releases maintained the same level of quality, ensuring patient

Coordinated and conducted a year 2000 project plan at a major teaching hospital
to validate software compliance and compatibility with the year rollover, and
that equipment continued to have functionality.
Gathered equipment inventory information from the Access database and then did
research the internet to gather manufacturer information. This was augmented with
the Laboratory and Radiology manager's findings for their departments, ensuring
complete asset management and assessment.

Investigated medical software vendors Y2K compliance, and validated the quantity
of updating and testing that would be needed. Used that information to develop
the scope of the project.
Tracked the progress of the projects through the use of MS Project, Excel, and
Access Database. Expectations were exceeded and workflow progressed quickly and
accurately.
Trained users in Y2K project methodology. Assisted employees in completing
designed paperwork for the projects accurate and timely completion. Maintained
all documentation.
Reviewed and critiqued templates for analysis and contingency planning,
implementation, testing, and wrap-up, for the hospital lab and radiology
departments. This ensured that outside audits would have completed project

Build lab tests into the Lab database for transmission to a Reference lab to
ensure the correct and complete two-way data transmission. Ensuring tests being
ordered and results coming back to the lab were correct and accurate. Saving
money and time.
Monitored the interface to ensure correct interchange of data between the two
labs, so there would not be duplication of tests and waste time and money.
Assisted both doctors and nurses in the usage of the new software, to facilitate
ease of software use, and lessen frustrations. Giving employees the attention
they needed to do their work correctly.
