Avionics Applications Engineer - Honeywell (BCAS), Phoenix, Arizona 
Created installation documentation including wiring and installation methods for
the Primus Epic avionics system for the Hawker Horizon aircraft. Liaised with
internal product groups to ensure various subsystems interfaced correctly. Worked
with aircraft manufacturer to resolve any installation issues related to
subsystems for which I was responsible. Coordinated with technicians to design
and build an integration test station for the Primus Epic system.

Technical Management	
Working as the Head of Computing and Teaching Support I have developed a greater
understanding of the importance of process and policy in managing a technical

Key achievements include:
•	Creating an Operations Manual for the position to thoroughly document
processes and procedures required to ensure the smooth operation of a department
with 200+ computers and approximately 80 users.
•	Streamlining ordering system for annual budget of $100k NZD
•	Migrating various department services to central IT system (print serving,
email lists, etc).

Software Development
Working as a software developer I have developed a keen sense of detail and a
more in depth knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems.  I have
performed all aspects of software development including designing, coding,
testing, and debugging. 
Key achievements include:
•	Using VB 6.0 to develop the client side interface to PortalDxi, a proprietary
remote database management system.
•	Creating ScanPortal AP which is a system utilized by Capitol Records, Danone
Waters of North America, and International Rectifier to allow more efficient
management of their accounts payable departments.

Networking	
Managing the Windows/Linux network for the Physics and Astronomy department
greatly enhanced my knowledge of network protocols and procedures.
Key achievements include:
•	Installing and maintaining a continuous stream of new desktops and laptops
which were managed by Windows Server Group Policy.
•	Successfully managing a local area network with approximately two hundred
client machines running either Windows 2000, XP, or Linux as their operating
system.

Technical Support	
As one of two primary people responsible for computer support for the Department
of Physics and Astronomy I periodically assisted students and staff with any
technical issues they might have.

•	Ensuring that all users’ technical requests were responded to quickly and
