Project: Renewal of Health insurance Rating methods     
This was a project for an US-based health insurance provider, which involved
development and enhancement of insurance rating systems using COBOL and testing
of those programs using JCL and other mainframe tools like file-aid.

Responsibilities:
Module Leader
Taking bottom-line responsibility for correct and timely delivery of
deliverables
Ensure effective communication with onsite team members and effort estimation
Code and documentation review
Design documentation
Coding, Peer code review and Defect fixing
Mentoring of newly joined team members and ensuring project process are
correctly followed by all team members.






Project: National Provider Identifier Implementation               
This was a complex development project for an US-based health insurance provider
which involved the development of entire new system for processing of insurance
claims and also involved seamless integration with the existing system using
COBOL, JCL and IMSDC.

Responsibilities:
Software developer
Requirement Understanding : Functional requirements understanding , grasp of
domain knowledge 
Detailed Design: Complete design document to be sent to client. 
Analysis: Analysis of existing codes and impact analysis of the changes
proposed.
Coding: Collaborated in the development of complex new software interfaces.
Supported existing legacy system to provide newly created cases and ensured they
were available in the systems in parallel until legacy systems were retired. 
Testing: Self testing as well as integration testing for all modules developed.
Bug fixing and defect tracking.
Maintenance of the developed systems.

Configuration Controller
Created the folder structure for maintaining project documentation 
Deployed VisualSourceSafe and assigned authority rights for common file server
access.
Ensured data concurrency and consistency on the project file server. 
Explaining the configuration process to the new team members. 
Making sure that the correct deliverables are being sent onsite.

Domain knowledge
Expertise in domain knowledge related to health insurance. Have also passed the
American heath insurance Certification exam for health care domain.


Project: E-Banking (Training)                                                   
                               
This project was part of internship project during training. It was a simulation
of a complete online banking environment. It included development of forms in VB
as front end application and back end as Oracle.

Training Qualification
Successfully completed 4 months of intensive training at Infosys, Mysore. It
included Generic training in Software development and Open Systems Training.
