Manager, Software Applications Systems
Manage supply chain applications, project planning & execution, business
analysis and programming for major national retailer.
•Was promoted from Programmer to Sr. Programmer to Project Manager within 5
years of starting with Williams-Sonoma. Was promoted to Manager of Applications 2
years after becoming Project Manager. Currently manage a staff of 20 people.
•Managed PkMS implementation team in the design and development of 100+
interface programs between the new PkMS warehouse management system and host and
carrier systems. Resulted in the successful on-time and within budget
implementation of the new system in 5 nation wide DC’s within a year.
•Networked with corporate project team to identify the interfaces that needed to
be developed to successfully test and launch the new corporate Oracle based Retek
integrated business platform. Resulted in on time, within budget integration of
30 interfaces.
•Managed an IT project team on the successful implementation of the Manugistics
transportation system. Resulted in transforming transportation processes from a
manual to automated system to increase efficiency and greatly reduce
transportation cost.
•Assessed and reorganized the customer order tracking/visibility project (TPM).
Resulted in streamlining the customer order tracking process to provide a single
point of internet entry to track real-time order status.
•Collaborated with distribution executive management in the design layout of IT
infrastructure to be used in the new Olive Branch, MS DC. Subsequently
coordinated the purchase and installation of the IT infrastructure equipment and
software following pre-approved timetable.
•Managed an IT team in the design and development of a quick ship system for
DC’s to improve merchandise delivery to 500+ stores. Resulted in: a 50% increase
in processing effectiveness to ship 20,000+ SKU’s; significant labor cost
savings; and successful system port over to new PkMS.
Allenberg Cotton Company, Memphis, Tennessee 1989 - 1993
Senior Programmer/Analyst
Designed, coded and maintained new applications while maintaining and rewriting
old applications.
•Sold corporate executives on the need to redesign and rewrite existing legacy
operations, accounting and supply chain software applications to make them more
flexible, upgradeable and easier to maintain. Resulted in easily maintainable
programs and enhanced business operations efficiency.
Desoto County Government, Hernando, Mississippi 1985 - 1989
Manager, Government Systems
Directed county government IT department to increase information processing
capabilities to meet needs of 100,000+ residents. Spearheaded data transfer from
WANG 2200 to IBM S/36 system.
•Designed, coded and implemented applications to increase effectiveness of
accounting, payroll, tax collection, car tag, land use assessment, delinquent
tax, voter registration, county administration, and traffic violation government
and citizen services.
