Teaching / Research Assistant, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC    
2004 - Present
Provide research on Human Computer Interface (HCI) design integrated with haptic
devices and technology, virtual reality (VR)-based surgical simulator design,
cognitive performance analyses on VR simulator users, medical application of
deformable tissue modeling and haptic modeling technologies, CAD / CAM modeling
and algorithm development, and telecommunication. Perform teaching assistance for
Engineering courses, lecturing, tutoring in labs, grading papers, and conferring
with other students as required. Present lectures during absence of professors.
Key Projects and Achievements
 * Authored paper on surgical simulator fidelity and effects of time lag on
human performance.
 * Served as Assistant in an international student summer research program at
NCSU from 2005 to 2008, handling program coordination, implementation, and

Designed software simulation programs for workflow analysis used in
investigating human errors during preparation of pharmaceuticals from barcode,
working out of the medical center's Human Simulation and Patient Safety division.
Produced simulation models to predict efficiency and error rates and provided
sequential data analysis for design and development of medical devices and
workspace / workflow optimization.

Tooling Engineer / Supervisor, Shanghai GM Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China          
2003 - 2004
Performed as a shift engineer and supervised a team of up to eight persons,
including technicians, on a production line in an automotive plant that produces
600,000 vehicles a year. Oversaw daily production work, assigned work orders,
trained production line workers on quality control, QS9000, and machine
operations. Assessed and improved production flow chart and quality-control
processes.

 * Played important role in development of new model for china while assigned to
Japan.
 * Led team of five engineers to Korea on special assignment to integrate design
project.
 * Participated in two international projects to integrate manufacturing request
processes to achieve optimal process-driven process design (PDPD) for first
locally designed model.
 * Trained production line staff to use SPC Chart as an effective tool for
quality control.
 * Prepared documentation for QS9000 and ISO14001 audits.
