A successful 20 year career in the United States Army Telecommunications field.
Seven years of contracting experience as Watch Officer, Tech Controller, Site
Manager and Red Switch Technician. Effectively lead and directed
cross-functional teams to deliver project deliverables within the constraints of
schedules, budget, and resources. Also, coordinated, developed, managed, and

Red Switch Technician II March 2007-
Present
Acquisition Engineering Consultants, Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Maintain the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) by conducting preventive
maintenance checks, troubleshooting, and providing connectivity support to the
DRSN Red Phone network, and the instruments for all associated DRSN equipment
peripherals: Enhanced Command Console (ECC), Dual Phone Adapters (DPA), Digital
Trunk Adapters (DTA), Multifunction Digital Adapters (MDA), Digital Phone
Multiplexers (DPM), Integrated Services Telephones (ST), and Multi-Line
Telephones (MLP). Perform installations required of circuits or peripheral DRSN
equipment up to the demarcation point, and include the installation; and any
relocation of: DPA’s, DTA’s, MDA’s, DPM’s, Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI),
IST’s, and MLP’s, or other associated red switch equipment. Continue to operate
many types of CCI equipment: KG-84, KG-194, KOI-18, STU-IIIR, AN/CYZ-10, and
SKL. Work with a variety of voice, data, and computer equipment that interfaced
with the DRSN locally. Continually maintain the DRSN, database, and make changes
when required. Maintain the line number button book, and circuit diagrams.

Site Manager October 2005 – May 2006
ITT Systems Division, Victory Base, Iraq
Managed 113 employee’s in Red Switch, REDCOM switch, Tech Control, Systems
Administration, Network Administration, Automated Message Handling System,
Outside Plant, Automated Data Programming/Warranty Parts, Help Desk, Satellite
Communications and Microwave Transmission Sections. Work with the Contract
Officer Representative to make sure that we were working within the contract
agreement. Interviewed prospective employee’s to ensure that they have the
certifications, skills, and experience for the position. Evaluated, trained, and
mentored employees in areas of time management, work schedules, time card
preparation, military regulations, and the company operating procedures. Wrote
the site operating procedures per what the government expects from the site, and
each section. Inventoried Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Government
Furnished Parts (GFP), and company purchased supplies. Worked within the budget
through the military, and the company. Overseen the entire network on Victory
Base; helped where needed in technical areas of the tech control facility, and
the Switch Multiplexing Unit (SMU). Ensured all paperwork going to the military
was correct. Worked with senior level military officers when they wanted to
change the network, and advised them the best way to make the change using my
expertise in those areas of the change.
Tech Control (Assistant Lead)
November 2003 – October 2005
ITT Systems Division, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait
Operate, maintain, Promina 800/400, Canoga Perkins, numerous cryptographic
devices, Sonet mux, ATM Switch and the SMU (Switch Multiplexing Unit), which
provided the gateway from tactical communications to strategic communications.
Used FACIT 5.0 to maintain Master Station Log and to do trend analysis reports,
Remedy Trouble Ticket Management System to track network circuit, and system
outages, and advised senior U.S. military communications personnel of the state
of the transmission network backbone. Designed circuit diagrams using Visio, put
together circuit folders performed node management, and did circuit actions.
Responsible for ensuring customers were provided with secure, and non-secure
voice/data communications, and to perform troubleshooting on network outages.
Performed installation, maintenance, testing, and provisioning of telecom
circuits at the technical control facility. Performed complex technical end to
end testing on Military Defense Communications Systems (DCS) command, and control
communications circuitry for voice/data systems, plus constructed cabling between
network devices. With the 160th Signal Brigade, and the 335th Theater Signal
Command designed the communications move of circuits from Camp Doha to Camp
Arifjan.
Tech Controller Watch Officer January 2003 – November 2003
SKE/DG21, Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory
Section. Coordinated complete processing of communications signals including
satellite transmission, and reception paths. Operated cryptographic equipment,
transmitters, receivers, IDNX terminal, FCC-100, FCC-98, DAMA and AN/WSC-3.
Tested, tuned, aligned, inspected, patched, and configured all communications
equipment as necessary to meet operational requirements. Prepared and maintained
circuit quality, outage logs, reports using Remedy, and Supervised 3 personnel as
the Tech Control Watch Officer. Worked with the United States Navy
Communications FACIT 4.0.
