DB2 Consultant -  Assigned to maintenance and upgrades for DB2 Version 7.
Environment includes multiple data sharing environments for test and
production.
Included 24 X 7 environment with very high volume and update activity.

Accomplishments include running catalog reorgs as recommended for DB2 
Version 8 migrations.

9/01 – 01/05 First Data Corp, Omaha, Nebraska
Database Administration

Senior Database Analyst – Assigned to Performance and Tuning to oversee all 
DB2 development and existing production environment. Currently working on
ZPARM settings to standardize for application development and allocation of
resources. Also utilize tools such as CA’s OS/390 tools, previously Platinum,
Insights DB2 monitor, and Candles Omegamon to detect problem jobs or
transactions and proactively analyze poor performance and recommend tuning
changes. Assist with BCP disaster recovery to improve process with subsystem
startup and application restores.

Systems Programmer/Database Administrator – Responsible for the installation
customization, support, and maintenance of DB2. Additional products include
CA/Platinum tools, BMC Quickstart, DB2PM, Candle Omegamon, and BMC
AR/CTL.

Accomplishments include upgrading Platinum tools and eliminating all open
problems. Also completed implementation of a two member data sharing 
group using one existing subsystem and adding a new member.

Senior Systems Programmer/Database Administrator – Responsible for the
installation, customization, support, and maintenance of DB2. Additional 
products include CA/Platinum tools and utilities, multiple monitors, and
RAI’s Smart/Restart. Current environment includes 14 DB2 subsystems
running on six separate JES complexes. Top priority project is implementing
data sharing into high volume, high availability production environments.

Accomplishments include successful implementation of workload 
redistribution using DDF communication for CICS access.

Senior Systems Programmer – Currently assigned to online group for support
of CICS. Assignments include the installation and customization of CICS
version 4, Boole & Babbage IMF, Compuware Shared Services, Abend Aid/FX,
Expeditor, SYSB, TMON for CICS, and Candle Omegamon for CICS. Also
responsible for periodic configuration changes to TCP/IP for CISCO routers 
and direct connections to host. Previously assigned to Rearchitecture Group
where I completed multiple installations of new release of CA-7 and CA-11.
Environment is multiple LPARs including isolated lab and Y2K images which
are also supported.

Accomplishments include the migration of 14 CICS version 3 regions to
version 4 maintaining a complex multi-configuration of CICS common client
applications.

7/96 – 6/97 First Data Resources, Omaha, Nebraska
Information Systems Architecture

Senior Systems Programmer – Responsible for testing new and exploitation of
existing products for implementation into business environment. Assignments
involve building an OS/390 sysplex environment for DB2, Oracle MVS, Candle
monitors, and system automation.

Accomplishments include implementation of a DB2 data sharing environment
on a 3 LPAR sysplex.

Systems and Programming

Senior Database Analyst – Responsible for ongoing support and new development
of business applications and client base. The production environment consists
of
approximately 800 plans accessing 400 GIG of data on 2000 tables. Primary
functions are software support, configuration, and performance tuning of 7 
subsystems running in 6 MVS images. Applications supported are COBOL and
assembler based running in a batch JES2 JCL and online CICS environments.

Accomplishments include migration to DB2 version 3 and QMF version 3 for
six subsystems. Also support Boole & Babbage monitor, Platinum products and
utilities, and Sybase server products which have been upgraded and customized
to support environment.



6/91 – 6/94 Citgo Petroleum Corp, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Information Systems

Systems Engineer – Primary areas of responsibility are MVS software products, 
DB2, and CICS. 

Accomplishments include installation, customization, and customer base support
of over 20 new releases of MVS software products. Installation and maintenance 
of the following products: CICS, DB2, OPC/A, Activity Monitor, CICS manager,
CMF, DASD Advisor, GENTRAN, COBOL, COBOL II, MH-TRAN II, and 
others.

Database management accomplishments include upgrading DB2 from release 2.1
to 2.2 and then later to 2.3.

CICS accomplishments include upgrading CICS from release 2.1.1 to 2.1.2 and
then later to 3.3.0.

Other accomplishments include implementation of a COBOL to COBOL II
migration strategy which included product evaluations and environmental setup
for minimal impact and automation of conversion.
