Temporary position that required use of absolute and relative rectangular/polar
coordinates, layer management (freezing/thawing layers globally or for specific
viewports, saving/restoring layers, filtering layers), creating text styles,
drawing/editing text, determining text height and linetype scaling factor for
plotting (LTSCALE/PSLTSCALE), scaling plots in Paper Space, dimensioning objects,
hatching, creating/inserting/exploding blocks, inserting raster images and Adobe
PDF files, and using Xref files to edit AutoCAD drawings for project engineers
and project managers.

AUTOCAD 2006/LAND DESKTOP DEVELOPMENT 2006 DRAFTER
March 2006 - February 2007 

Used AutoCAD 2006 and Land Desktop Development 2006 to draft site plan for
medical clinic, including cover sheet, boundary sheet, existing conditions,
demolition plan, proposed design, erosion control plan, and drainage plan.

Reviewed and summarized the Site Plan and Zoning Ordinance and Land Use
Regulations for Windham, NH to identify requirements for proposed Dunkin' Donuts
shop; drafted existing and proposed conditions for shop construction.

Drafted proposed design for left-hand-turn lane from a state highway, a bypass
lane to direct traffic around it, and created sight line profile.

Used AutoCAD 2006 to calculate total area for different soil types on numerous
soil maps to determine number of buildable house lots. Made numerous minor
modifications to different residential site plans.

Created detail drawings of manholes, catch basins, level spreaders, rip rap
traps, pavement composition for proposed roadway modifications, truck turning
angles, and tree- and shrub-planting procedures.

Investigated using Microsoft OLE technology to enter test pit data into MS Excel
spreadsheet and then embed or link the spreadsheet to an AutoCAD drawing.

Used HTML to design, develop, test, and document fully functional intranet site
for Waltham software quality assurance organization; collaborated with Chicago
organizations to bring site on-line within strict time deadline.

to enable Quality Assurance to test IRI applications more efficiently.

As project leader, collaborated with other Waltham departments to test

Tested printer emulation switching/sniffing for Hewlett Packard PCL5/PostScript
multiemulator releases; created and documented multiemulator customer test suite;
developed acceptance test suite for Hewlett Packard PCL5E emulator releases to
QA. Created check-in suite for PhoenixPage PostScript level 2 source code
modifications; coded PostScript-language utility that searched data base and
printed bug reports in multiple formats.

Designed and developed 75 PostScript-language programs to test PhoenixPage
PostScript level 2 interpreter. Programs tested path construction operators,
device-independent graphics state operators, form and pattern operators, packed
array operators, virtual memory operators, character and font operators, and
interpreter parameters. Used Bourne shell scripts to test product releases and
perform regression testing in SUN workstation/UNIX environment.

Designed Hewlett Packard PCL5 test suite hierarchy, compiled Genoa Technology's
source code to create Hewlett Packard PCL5 emulator test files, and
maintained/documented all HP PCL5 test suites and scripts used to run tests.

Designed and developed 100 C language programs using Microsoft C 5.1 to test
Hewlett-Packard LaserJet III emulation software. Programs tested Page Control,
Cursor Positioning, Font Selection and Management, Print Model, Rectangular Area
Fill Graphics, Raster Graphics, and HP-GL/2 commands. Used Bourne shell scripts
and automated in-house tools to test product releases, perform regression
testing, and isolate faults for development engineers in SUN workstation/UNIX
environment. Trained new PCL5 project leader before transferring to PhoenixPage
PostScript QA team.

As lead engineer, interfaced extensively with Toshiba management and Toshiba
project engineers to test all printer emulation software developed for Toshiba
PageLaser8 printer. Additionally, tested front-panel, options manager and
supervisor functionality, including paper sources, paper sizes, page handling,
error recovery/error reporting, resetting the print environment, and parallel and
serial data communications.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
November 1985 - June 1988

Developed and tested text and graphics drivers for Toshiba PageLaser 12 printer
in Intel 8086 assembly language.

Designed test plan to certify video text and graphics drivers developed for
Lotus applications. Tested drivers in separate, shared, and dual-monitor modes.
Drivers supported different graphics resolutions, different screen dimensions,
and different video modes, including monochrome (MDA), color (CGA), and enhanced
(EGA).

Designed, created, and executed tests to certify dot-matrix and laser printer
text and graphics drivers developed for Lotus applications.

Designed and executed test plans to perform compatibility testing of personal
computers and peripheral devices with Lotus applications. Documented potential
user problems and product limitations for Lotus Technical Support; reported test
results to Lotus Software Quality Assurance and manufacturer.


COMPUTERVISION CORPORATION, Bedford, MA

TEST ENGINEER
June 1984 - July 1985

Reviewed external design specifications for new CDS 4000 diagnostic release and
provided input to Development during design review cycle. Wrote test strategy
that outlined major goals of diagnostic test cycle and summarized testing planned
for each diagnostic program. Wrote and executed detailed test procedures for CDS
4000 diagnostic software; reported program errors and recommended enhancements to
Diagnostics Development.


NIXDORF COMPUTER CORPORATION, Burlington, MA

As project leader, coordinated writing group that reorganized and updated
documentation set for Nixdorf 8850 system. Assisted group members in developing
outlines, edited first-draft material, and reviewed each draft with writer
assigned to project.

Tested Nixdorf 8850 3777 Systems Network Architecture (SNA) application software
to develop a user's guide for Remote Job Entry (RJE) in an SNA environment.

Wrote user's guide for Nixdorf 8850 communications application that allowed
financial institutions to transmit data electronically within any Federal Reserve
District.

Developed initial documentation set for Nixdorf 8860 distributed data processing
system, including system description, hardware operator's guide, and workstation
operator's guide. Tested spooler software extensively to generate first draft of
Nixdorf 8860 Spooler Management manual.
