Systems Analyst
As a Systems Analyst I was involved in design, development and implementation of
several windows and web based distributed applications for American Standards
Air conditioner manufacturing division, TRANE.
Primary Responsibilities
Involved in the design, development and implementation of enterprise level
distributed applications using Microsoft .NET platform. The tools and
technologies used included C#, ASP.NET, Oracle 8,9i,10g, XML, Web Services, Excel
services, AJAX, PLC ( PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER).
Involved in use case analysis, Designing and modeling the business entities
and database models
Involved in architecting enterprise applications with rich user Interface
using technologies such as AJAX and distributed business applications using
Service Oriented Architecture.
Involved in the full life cycle of an enterprise application for simulating
the tests performed on a furnace. This was a truly distributed application with a
rich web client developed using C# and AJAX. The Furnace simulation was designed
as a business layer component using PLC as API. The Electronic Part verification
application was designed and developed to make sure the furnaces get the right
parts and are assembled right. Also involved in several other intranet
application for the Air Conditioning/Furnace plant using .NET Web platform.

PDIMS, a system that provides extensive data mining on data from a third party
vendor database on the usage and wastage of paper in the seventeen printing
plants of Wall Street Journal. The system provides a custom two way replication
process which involved complex data mapping process using SQL Server stored
procedures and triggers. The Web Front End/ Presentation Tier and the Business
Tier was developed using ASP.NET & C# & XML. The Data Tier was implemented using
SQL Server 2000.
NewStox , a system which collects, processes and analyze the market data
(dividend/earnings, winners/losers reports) input for the DOWJONES publications
such as Wall Street Journel and Barrons.
Wall Street Journal Lay-Out System, a multi-user online page layout system for
Wall Street Journal. It provides users from various locations to create, update
and manage the page layouts simultaneously.

Involved in modeling and designing database and middle tier objects and in the
development of front end for a Payment Entry and Analysis system for Showtime
Networks and MTV Networks financial users. The application tracks payment entry
and does various financial analysis and posts them online to an AS 400 server.
For increased reusability the application is designed in state of the art
three-tier using distributed architecture (DCOM) with business objects deployed
in a network server. The system is developed in VB 5.0 for developing ActiveX
business objects and front-end. Sybase is the back end database. A web front end
is provided using the same VB Active X business middle tier and Active Server
Pages. Also involved in developing several back-end stored procedures and dB
triggers for the application.

Involved in the design, development, implementation and testing of a campaign
module and a reporting engine for a Fundraising application called Impresario.
The application is developed using client server technology in PowerBuilder 5.0,
Visual basic 5.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 on MSWindows 95. Involved in
developing several sub modules which involved programming in PowerBuilder 5.0 for
creating both business objects and User Interface as well as in Transact SQL for
creating back end processes as stored procedures and database triggers. Also
involved in developing a messaging application, which communicates with an IBM AS
400 using IBM MQSERIES. The application follows object oriented design using
visual and non-visual user objects. For increased productivity it also uses OCX,
MDI, Distributed applications, drag drop and other advanced features on a 32-bit
platform.
