language was in .Net 2.0 and C#. Reports included McCabe's Cyclomatic Complexity
metric, Halstead's Software Science metrics, Henry and Kafura's Information Flow
metric, as well as tallies of code repositories, and heuristic application to
application comparison within form and view environments.

CCSI •Bohemia, New York
•Head of Applications Development
•October 2001 – March 2006
As head of application development for an award winning online development and
training company, I work directly with clients from discovery phase to
implementation, creating all internal budgets and billing estimates in
conjunction with specifications. Daily tasks include management of a small,
highly diversified team as well as execution of more hands-on projects,
participating as engineer, analyzer, and programmer. Here are some examples of
the diverse and numerous projects:
Converting sixteen years of legacy legal data for Suffolk County District
Attorney into a cohesive browser based system to replace and expand the previous
UNYSIS/BIS mainframe application. The new system is fully compiled in C# for
ASP.Net and back-ended in Oracle 9i. Modeled interface libraries to manipulate
detached XML dataset through client side, accommodating complicated entry logic,
providing full round-trip object independence utilizing Oracle XSU. Current phase
implements data-feed integrations with Police and Albany.
Ported a mainframe legacy system slated for federal HIPPAA Compliancy audit to
extranet application in ASP/MSSQL for Nassau University Medical Center. Coded
reusable framework for rapid development of data driven screens, having the
application output custom entry screens from data object reflection. The hospital
scored in top percentile for credentialing and procedural provisioning, and
company was further commissioned.
Led team to produce top-notch education management suite currently utilized in
BOCES and hundreds of other school districts. Full life-cycle project built in
ASP / MSSQL managed dozens of school districts across the state in a high
transaction clustered SAN environment.
Bigchalk.com •New York, NY
•Director of Development
•April 2000 - April 2001
I was in charge of technical services for HomeworkCentral.com as it merged with
other top educational sites to form third largest educational portal site:
Bigchalk.com. Mentored and headed young team, pulling together existing resources
to form a talent pool in New York office. I reported directly to Bigchalk’s CTO.
Initially I was tasked with integrating HomeWorkCentral into the portal.
Converted neural network based in proprietary Delphi data-entry program and its
distributed IIS / SQL7 web application front-end to WebObjects / JAVA / Oracle
environment. Indexing and high availability of network was facilitated by
dispersing data through DTS, SQL-loader, and Thunderstone. Expanded the
Thunderstone search engine and developed key-wording applications to meta-tag all
content and improve search accuracy. We developed a multi-purpose correlation
engine that successfully absorbed the full SGML cache of World Book’s
Encyclopedia into neural network. Later we extended the engine to pin content to
state standards by C++ based COM components interfacing MediaSeek’s ExploraSource
through XML/XSL.
My role expanded into and evaluating and integrating co-branded or partnered
projects. Utilizing a custom EJB single-registration application interfaced by a
WebObjects framework performed necessary authentication to partners such as
BlackBoard and GreaterGood.com. My team also produced a data-driven Flash and
Real-audio educational game, the “Sounds of History”, in conjunction with the
Smithsonian Institution. The game was served by JSP/Oracle through JavaBeans
served by J-run on Sun-Solaris server.
Bigchalk was sold to ProQuest but the flexible object oriented structure we
worked to established continues to be used as the backbone of several nationally
used subscription research services.
