* Developed and commercialized several automotive exterior trim and underbody
coatings.
* Developed and commercialized a smooth primer for wheels that is metalized,
to provide a chrome-look.
* Worked extensively with Nashville production personnel to ensure quality of
developed products.
* Due to my rapport with production staff and workers, I was asked to help
with the reduction of rework at the Nashville facility. Spent three months
on-site in Nashville, to identify the top 20 offenders which were examined
extensively for formulation characteristics, processing parameters, and
lot-to-lot variation of major raw materials. Appropriate processing and
formulation changes were identified and implemented resulting in a significant
reduction of rework.

* Member of team that received Ferro 's 1993 New Product Award for the
development and commercialization of an automotive primer surface. This was a
joint venture with DuPont. A second-generation was also developed and I
participated in OEM trials.
* Developed several color-specific OEM primer surfacers as a joint venture
with DuPont.
* Supervised three technicians and coordinated the continued development of a
clearcoat for automotive OEM. This project was also a joint venture with DuPont.
* Participated as a charter member of the Facilities Management Team, a group
of Ferro and former Glidden chemists and technicians devoted to making a smooth
transition of the two companies.
