Work as the Data Architect for the Key Education Resource (KER) Group. This
group supports all student loan activity at Key. There are four Agile Teams that
work using the Scrum Methodology to build a new customer facing web application
to support student loan application submission. As the Data Architect, I worked
with the Student Loan Application User Group and IT management to build seven
new schemas to support the loan application submission process. I then designed
and helped build new Oracle environments to house these new schemas. To support
concurrent, agile development and testing, I helped build five Development Oracle
environments, two System Test environments, a Quality Verification environment, a
Performance Testing environment and two production environments. I designed and
wrote detailed specifications for the conversion of an existing Sybase Database
to the new Oracle environment and I was responsible for managing the developers
who constructed the conversion programs. I work with all of the Agile teams to
make sure any on-going enhancements to the database fit properly into the
existing schemas or to make sure any new schemas are created meeting our database
standards.

I also developed an Ab Initio environment to support all batch processing that
occurred in the new Student Loan system. I wrote all of the Ab Initio
Specifications and I was responsible for managing the developers who constructed
any Ab Initio programs.

As one of a small group of Data Architects at Key, I also had the responsibility
of managing and enhancing the corporate wide data model and determining
authoritative sources for all of our data objects at Key. I reviewed changes to
the Corporate Logical Model as well as changes to various existing and new
physical data models. I also work with senior line of business personnel to
better understand business data needs and how to support these needs.
