OVERVIEW OF QUALIFICATIONS

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Position:	Developer/Technical Team Lead, Brodart, Williamsport, PA
Duration:	November 2003 to Present

•	Developed Oracle functionality using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, SQL,
PL/SQL, database triggers, packages, procedures, functions and SQL*Loader.
•	Technical team lead overseeing all client and contract developers. 
Implemented development standards and infrastructure to support development, code
reviews and testing procedures.
•	Created conversion programs for converting legacy data into the Oracle
Applications (GL, AP, AR, FA, JTF, PO, BOM, INV and HR), as well as real-time and
batch interfaces between Oracle and legacy systems.
•	Created custom enhancements to the Oracle Applications.
•	Created a high visibility form-based process that allowed the users to enter
and apply receipts across multiple operating units for their centralized payment
processing facility.
•	Created custom pricing rules for use by Order Management and iStore.
•	Enhanced standard Oracle 1099 process to allow the company to process 1099s
across multiple operating units for combined tax reporting.
•	Enhanced standard Oracle AR Statement processing to allow the company to
process across multiple operating units.  Additionally. Enhanced standard Cash
Reconciliation programs to allow for bank reconciliation across multiple
operating units.
•	Created a card catalog printing system that allowed Brodart to print a variety
of required cards and labels from their bibliographic database for libraries.
•	Trained the client’s IT staff in areas of the Oracle Applications and
development using Oracle Tools (forms, reports, SQL, etc).  Trained the client on
use of programmatic installation of custom code using scripts and APIs.

Duration:	October 2002 to November 2003

•	Technical project manager for the implementation of, and custom development,
for a full Oracle Applications 11i (11.5.8/11.5.9) implementation (all modules
Financials, CRM and Manufacturing).  
•	Managed project team consisting of over 100 developers and functional
consultants.  Multi-million dollar budget.
•	Created project infrastructure, communications plan, staffing plan, and
implementation plan.
•	Created development infrastructure to include instance management, patching
strategy, development standards, development and test procedures, source code
control system, and code migration procedures, 
•	Estimated all development efforts as a result of gap analyses.
•	Drove solutioning for technical detailed designs and architected solutions for
implementation.
•	Managed conversions, development of interfaces, reports and extensions. 
Converted data and interface modules using custom and predefined APIs.
•	Architected and designed majority of all development work.

Duration:	March-2002 to October 2002

•	Wrote technical design specifications and functional design specifications for
data conversions from Legacy systems into the Oracle Applications 11i.
•	Developed data conversion programs/process for Suppliers, Customers,
Employees, AP Invoices, AR Invoices, AR Receipts and General Ledger balances and
details.  Used custom and predefined APIs for converting data.  Open interfaces
used where possible, otherwise developed validation routines to ensure data
followed Oracle guidelines prior to insertion.  Used custom and predefined APIs
for interfacing.
•	Created common toolbox application which included a customization to the
custom library.  This toolbox allowed forms customizations based on data being
entered into a form, rather than implementing code changes in the custom library.
 This feature was later implemented by Oracle in what today is known as Forms
Personalizations.

Position:	Developer/Technical Team Lead, Automotive Finance Corporation,
Indianapolis, IN
Duration:	December 1999 to March 2002

•	Project consisted of implementing Oracle Financials with a custom billing
system.
•	Developed numerous reports in Oracle Reports to run as concurrent programs. 
Some reports designed to extract data from the Oracle Applications, some from
custom billing system, some combining the two systems.
•	Modified the custom library to perform table-oriented modifications to forms
versus modifying the custom library every time.  More than 20 major
customizations to the form were made possible without modifying a single form or
changing code in the custom library.
•	Trained permanent staff in the use of Oracle technologies, including Oracle
Reports, Oracle Applications table structures and the use of the Oracle
Application Object Library.
•	Open interfaces used where possible, otherwise developed validation routines
to ensure data followed Oracle guidelines prior to insertion.  Used custom and
predefined APIs.
•	Created Oracle Technical Tracking Application to track and manage
deliverables, such as development items, defects, help desk calls, testing
workflow, etc.  Application consisted of several forms and reports and was run as
a module within the Oracle Applications.

Position:	Developer/Project Manager, Lorain County Auditor, Lorain, OH
Duration:	August 1999 to Jan 2000 (part time and concurrent with another
client)

•	Performed upgrade of Oracle Applications from Release 9.4 to 10.7.  Migrated
from MVS to NT environment.
•	Created custom extension to the Oracle Applications to manage government
warrants, a government accounting function specific to Payables checks. 
Extension included forms, reports and PL/SQL code.
•	Managed this government implementation of Oracle.
•	Trained the users in the new 10.7 functionality.

Position:	Developer, Eaton Corporation, Cleveland, OH
Duration:	June 1997 to November 1999

•	Oracle Applications developer and development team lead.
•	Developed custom reports using Oracle Reports.
•	Developed reports and capability to print both letter and legal sized
documents from the Oracle Applications (something that the Oracle Applications
could not do).  Reports were developed and integrated within the Oracle
Application Object Library (to be run as concurrent programs within the Apps).
•	Modified the custom library to add customizations to forms without modifying
the actual forms.
•	Designed and developed complete sub-system to handle corporation specific
purchasing policies.


Position:	Project Manager, Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, Dallas, TX
Duration:	December 1996 to June 1997

•	Project manager for implementation of the Oracle Applications, which was
already in progress.
•	I was able to get the project back on track and managed the remainder of the
implementation.
•	Smaller size/scope project and staff.

Position:	Project Manager, Tupperware Corporation, Orlando, FL
Duration:	February 1995 to December 1996

•	Project manager and development team lead for implementation of Oracle
Financials.  Client committed to the implementation with a Big-5 firm.  I
subcontracted to SHL Systemhouse when they could not implement the Applications. 
Implementation was for the entire US and Canada infrastructures.
•	This was the biggest success of my career.  Prior to my arrival, the client
was very unhappy with the IT provider (SHL).  Under the auspices of SHL, I came
in, proved myself, established the proper framework and methodology for the
project, communicated with client on a frequent basis and, within a short time,
won over the client.  This project was successful and the Finance portion (my
project) was implemented in record time.
•	I coordinated with client counterpart and created project timeline and
implemented the Oracle Applications.
•	Performed data conversion from Legacy systems.
•	Developed numerous reports using SQLReportWriter, RPT and Crystal Reports.
