Turned around and reorganized the Newport Beach office of InterComex, a national
oil and gas partnership (telesales) and increased monthly revenues from $3
Million to $5.5 Million in 3.5 months.

	Team Working / Mastermind Groups – Originally developed for First
Consumers National Bank in order to maintain their $42 Million dollar a month
cash flow while they were going through turbulent times with Spiegel who bought
the Credit Card Bank. Since then, The A-TEAMS MasterMind program has been used in
Century 21 Real Estate Offices, RE MAX Real Estate Offices, Pitney Bowes Offices
Systems and most recently with a group of independent business men and
consultants for a period of 20 weeks.

	Entrepreneur/Innovator – Founded Safeguard, Inc. Wrote the business
plan, presented to investors, reengineered old patent and received new 20 year
patent on new design. Hired the management team, conducted focus groups,
developed an infomercial and created all the marketing and sales materials (see
website and infomercial at www.safeguardventures.com). 

	Trainer / Developer – In addition to numerous sales and management
training courses, developed a leading edge Continuing Legal Education Training
Course entitled; Empowering your Practice Without Stress for the Oregon State Bar
Association.
Also served as a consultant to Kingsman Brittany, a West Coast Numismatics
house, in setting up, training and managing its telesales operation.

Winner of the consultant’s bozo award for starting a high performance business
consulting company at a time when most companies are just trying to stay in

•	Book was picked up and published on a chapter by chapter basis by a number of
Internet sites including; CEO Refresher Newsletter and weLead Inc. for presidents
& CEO’s.  
 
Safeguard, Inc., Portland, OR 2003 – 2008. Originally founded as Safeguard
Ventures, LLC, the organization had an opportunity to purchase an inexpensive
patent on a unique safety device for chainsaws. This device was highly needed as
the cost of chainsaw accidents in the U.S. had exceeded $1 Billion annually.

President - CEO 

Conducted research on original patent and chose to reengineer the Centurion® to
make it more functional and safer - Received a new 20 year patent in 2004.
Initially set up manufacturing in Washington, then set up for manufacturing in
China which reduced the price by 75%. Worked with attorneys on product liability
issues as well as developing Letters of Opinion for investment purposes. Put a
management team in place, Developed all sales and marketing processes and created
an infomercial in the interest of going directly to the public and not getting

the first chainsaw safety comic book for chainsaw users who don’t like to read
(most).

•	The Centurion received numerous letters of referral from organizations such as
Arbor Master Training in Canada, Forestry Mutual Insurance Company, Reynolds
Consulting and the North Carolina Department of Labor.

•	Major sales accounts included: Portland General Electric, Robins Air Force
Base, Outdoor Life, USDA Forest Service, General Services of America, Government
of Tennessee, Conoco Phillips, the Coastguard, Alcoa, Yale University and 50% of
the Dept’s of Transportation in the U.S.
  
•	Centurion® sales began 6/04 and doubled each year until the period of 3–5 /05
when they went up 500%.

Michael R Shenker Associates, Portland, OR 1992 – 2003. Company served as an
independent business consultancy which catered to start-ups as well as Fortune
500 institutions. Consulting services included: organizational development,
setting up MasterMind groups, marketing, sales, training and coaching. Also
conducted seminars and workshops on how to build and manage successful

•	Built income from $O – $150,000 annually and maintained that income until I
was offered the opportunity to set-up Safeguard Ventures.
