PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

PROVIDENCE ST. VINCENT MEDICAL CENTER	                 2007-PRESENT
Scheduling Coordinator -                                      
Coordinate all staff scheduling for Perinatal Division, a major department of
the medical center with   employees up to 500 employees over 375 FTEs. Provide
monthly schedules to nursing staff for each unit, including RNs, HUCs, CNAs, and
Maternity Technicians. Manage scheduling for an internal float pool of 50+ staff
that is cross-trained within the division. Created new centralized scheduling
system to transfer files from manual to electronic program utilizing Excel and
Adobe. End Result: a highly efficient and confidential system that allows staff
to read schedules via email and managers to have central access to all scheduling
requests and vacation calendars. Highly proficient in MS Outlook, Word,
PowerPoint and Publisher; advanced user of MS Excel.


    Projects – Selected by Chief Nursing Officer to join Central
Staffing Process Improvement Team and Regional Kronos Advanced Scheduler Project
Team. Both projects projected to standardize and improve scheduling and staffing
processes.  Kronos Project roll-out in 2010-11.

  DSI/MIKE Program Mural Project Manager - Volunteer (18 months)		
Managed community project focused on prevention of diabetes and renal failure
for high risk youth. Partnered with community youth and education programs;
program taught healthy living activities re: nutrition and physical exercise.
Hired local lead artist, delegated and recruited volunteer, managed community
members and youth to design and implement the Mural Project. Wrote and obtained
grant from Regional Arts & Culture Council. Developed and monitored budget,
created timelines, handled logistics, permits and equipment.  Organized and
delivered public Dedication ceremony with four public officials from city and

 Provided direct care of renal patients along with close coordination with RNs
in busy clinic serving up to 270 patients per week. Prepared solutions and
equipment for treatment, as well as took vital signs and accessed ports.
Monitored patients and drew blood for full CBC panels and other laboratory
testing.  Educated patients on post-treatment diet and fluid intake. Handled
quarterly machine maintenance and trouble-shooting. Trained all staff on clinic
policies, procedures and equipment protocols. 

 Assistant Manager from 2001-2006								
Created new process for Continuous Quality Improvement program to reduce
medication errors. Instituted inventory control process that helped reduce cost
per treatment from $23.19 to $20.20. Completed clinical chart audits and
monitored HR files to ensure credentialing information was accurate and updated.
Coordinated scheduling for all patients and staff. Regularly completed audits and
updated policies and procedures. Managed all building maintenance issues.
