PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Store Support Specialist
Pep Boys, Philadelphia, PA ( 2nd quarter of 2007)
First and second -level technical support position at the companys Call
Center as a member of the Service Work order Deployment Team. Responsible for the
rollout of the companys next generation hardware and software on the IBM SurePos
Series 300 POS platform running the proprietary ShopX POS application on SUSE
Linux 8.x.
Remotely coordinated the replacement of legacy laser printer hardware with
Lexmark T640 and T630 laser printers in tandem with third-party on-site field
technicians.
Responsible for rollout administration (verification of successful
installation of the software and hardware deployment inventory) as well as
shipping and receiving of such inventory (Signature capture devices, cables and
stands) being deployed in the stores. Remote execution of various applications
and scripts supporting the new hardware.
This project heavily Involved the usage of Lotus Notes D7 and the BMC Remedy
Service Desk call tracking tool for synchronized workgroup collaboration and
project trouble ticket management.

Development of in-store Applications on a hybrid configuration of SCO UNIX
5.0, SYBASE 10.0/11.1.1 and Windows 95/NT 4.0 in a POS environment.
Analysis, design and development of n-tier client/server applications
involving Windows 95/NT/XP clients, UNIX Applications and UNIX Database servers.
Programming languages primarily included "C" on UNIX, UNIX shell scripting..
ANSI-C, VB 6.0 and Borland's C++ Builder used for Windows 9x, NT 5.0, 2000, and
XP Pro application development. My expertise was in the area of R&D special
projects for the company.
Development of software allowing the successful rollout of Symantec's
pcANYWHERE 7.0, 7.5 and 8.x remote control software as well as an ODBC32
subsystem and program launch utility to approximately 3000 Windows 95 POS
terminals in over 600 stores. Developed custom installation software in UNIX
shell scripts, VB 6.0, "C", MSDOS batch, and the Wincmd scripting language for
handling the distribution, delivery and installation and verification of the
software in the hybrid UNIX/Windows environment.
Developed modules for the Perpetual Inventory Replenishment application that
monitored store inventory levels in real time and facilitated the re-ordering of
depleted stock
Successful rollout and support of Lexmark and Okidata network laser printers
to the complete store chain;
This included writing of the distribution applications and automated
verification of successful installs.
Was appointed the company's Windows "technology expert" and was the point man
for technical questions dealing with the Windows operating system platform
Member of a team evaluating emerging technologies for inclusion in the
corporate infrastructure and Y2K compliance.
Responsible for complex systems problem research, diagnosis and resolution
utilizing IBM Tivoli and custom applications.
Adhered to standard SDLC practices involving system analysis and writing of
