Professional Experience

 

Currently I am a Software Engineer for Link Computer Corporation creating
content rich applications using Object Oriented PHP and MySQL Databases. These
applications are interfacing with new technologies such as CSS3, JQuery and Ajax
to create a dynamic and interactive experience. Daily duties consist of creating
and extending classes, laying out html interfaces, JavaScript
validation/interaction and working in a team environment. I am also responsible
for creating, updating and design of MySQL databases, tables and relationships.
These tasks are directly related to a CMS which is an original creation of Link
Computer Corporation.

 

Previously I oversaw and maintained the network of seventy five users and an
entire department at Penn State University. Outside of core daily tasks I
performed a major remodel of the departmental website using Plone 3 CMS
technology. I also built from scratch an Ubuntu Linux server which uses Apache to
front a Zope instance for the Plone program to operate on.

 

Among other things I am running and maintaining a sole proprietorship Internet
Development Company designing websites and Internet applications related to
fishing. Projects include working with local businesses face to face to maintain
and or create new applications using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript with XML AJAX
functionality. Design work is done using Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create visually
appealing graphics to customer specification. One other aspect of my business is
that I am a licensed fly fishing guide in which I must show individuals from many
different lifestyles an enjoyable experience.

 

During my employment at ZedXInc I helped create bleeding edge Internet
applications for agriculture using Perl, PostGIS, PostgreSQL, ActionScript,
JavaScript and PostScript. I oversaw all storing of geometries to PostGIS 1.0.6
standards as well as manipulation of data by type using Perl /HTML in a user
interface. Another project I was assigned was to create a library which generated
PDF products via Perl/PostScript to produce critical analysis documents related
to agriculture practices for customers. 

Interpersonal

Working in a team environment with other programmers to develop intensively
scripted interfaces for Ecommerce and Agriculture; Presentation at LinkUP
computer conference on the use of JQuery, Ajax and CSS3. Interaction with
customers via phone and teleconference to solve technical issues; Developed
