EXPERIENCE
2007 to Present
18+ Months LIQUID LABS, Norristown, Pa, USA – SYSTEM TEST CONSULTANT
I manage an offshore QA team which conducted testing of a fully automated call
recording solution integrated with the ShoreTel VoIP Enterprise PBX system called
LiquidWare Recorder. The product is delivered as a hardware appliance with
Windows Services that perform recording functions, archiving and search using MS
SQLServer and a browser-based UI written in ASP.NET. I was responsible for
implementing and managing the test project which included managing an off-shore
team of developers and testers. I help Liquid Labs to release its product
successfully in a very competitive market because my experience allowed me to
help them define the product and to provide them with certification test plans,
installation, build environment, and release documentation. I learned enough
about the ShoreTel system in a very short time to be responsible for the
Technical Partner Program certification process with ShoreTel and to provide
technical support for upgrades and new installations. Development and test
environment includes Visual Studio 2005, ASP.NET, JIRA, MS SQLServer, MS Windows
Server 2003, TCP/IP.
1998 to 2005
7+ years MOLECULAR DEVICES CORPORATION, Sunnyvale, Ca, USA – SR. QA ENGINEER
Implemented a completely new QA process including the installation of problem
tracking software, release management, and configuration management and
organization of all test and product release processes. I helped to staff,
manage and mentor the QA team and directed the software development team through
the product lifecycle using Agile/Scrum methods when appropriate. I successfully
designed and completed operational (OQ)), integration, performance (PQ)
regression, installation (IQ), user acceptance (UAT) and validation testing of
these systems from product inception to production and release. System were
Windows UI and Web-based UI applications controlling the hardware/subsystems via
RS-232 and then migrating to TCP/IP and UDP in newer generations. I helped to
define the requirements for their new UIs and the interface specifications for
both the embedded product firmware to PC and subsystem communications. I setup
the test environments for these products and managed two testers (junior and
senior level) who were responsible for generating the test documentation and
running UI tests. I helped guide the development team through the entire SDLC. I
verified compliance with 21 CRF part 11 regulations and became familiar with ICH,
EU, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Using multi-tasking skills I became the
development engineer, marketing and customer support liaison, build and release
engineer and regression test manager for these products reproducing problems to
assist the development team. I communicated issues and status as required. I
started implementation of automated testing using Rational Test (Robot). My
biggest accomplishment was to help the embedded SW team to uncover the source of
extreme instability in one product line which saved the company $500,000 in
support costs for that product. Development and test environment encompassed many
applications and learning many interfaces including MFC, .NET, PRtracker,
Rational Test (Robot), UDP, TCP/IP. RS-232, Ethereal, Agile, MS Windows Embedded,
MS Windows Server, and Visual Studio.
1996 to 1998
2 years TRIMBLE NAVIGATION, Sunnyvale, Ca, USA – SYSTEM TEST/APPLICATIONS
ENGINEER
Accomplished Quality assurance testing and Type approval of Trimble
Inmarsat-C/GPS Galaxy and Sentinel satellite communications systems. Coordinated
with Type Approval Authorities in the USA and throughout the world (including
England, Japan, Australia, Russia, Sweden, and Germany) to schedule and conduct
tests, develop and provide test reports, and verify type approval compliance as
required in each country. Directed corrective actions and scope of regression
tests as results warranted. System level type approval communications tests were
coordinated with environmental testing as required. Provided customer technical
support including problem reports and analysis. Verified system operation and
directed testing of corrections as required. Trained customers on the proper use
of the system both on-site and remotely from Sunnyvale. Tested and provided
development direction for Windows based systems designed to track and map data
from and communicate with Trimble systems.
1994 to 1996
2 years STANFORD TELECOM, Sunnyvale, Ca, USA – CORPORATE QA DIRECTOR/SR.
ENGINEERING SPECIALIST
Corporate QA Engineer and received certification in Corporate QA, SLC and SDLC
processes. Was responsible for implementing corporate wide QA processes for all
projects and reviewed and oversaw project progress. Responsible for managing the
development and implementation of SW and HW development plans for all product
lines of STEL at all sites throughout USA in order to meet ISO 9000 compliance.
Coordinated with the product development teams and their management to track the
development of these plans for each site and verify implementation on schedule.
Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of configuration
management and release engineering procedures, critique of product design for
testability and reliability, and development of unit, integration, and system
level test plans. Responsible for developing the STEL GPS Satellite Signal
Simulator Test Facility. Coordinated set up of test facility HW/SW and data
collection/analysis software. Trained personnel in the use of new test equipment
and software. Developed and implemented system level test plans and procedures
with improved quality assurance of system updates. Accomplished system level
testing, data analysis, and reporting of results. Developed system interface
control documents, specifications and user manuals. Provided customer technical
support including problem tracking and their resolutions. Determined System
modifications required for each build to meet customer needs. .
