Senior Account Claims Representative, 6/04-present
Conduct thorough investigation of all assigned disability claims to determine
compensability. Manage claims caseload by determining plans of action associated
with disability medical management expectations and developing/coordinating
return to work strategies. Initiate and maintain prompt three point contact with
injured/disabled worker, insured and medical provider(s).Coordinate communication
with a variety of clientele, both internal and external, by preparing written
and/or oral communication areas such as potential reserve exposure on claims.
Coordinate appeals to discover pertinent facts bearing on claim in accord with
federal and state laws and procedures. Renders decisions affirming or denying
previous ruling, based on testimony, claim records, applicable provisions of law,
and established precedents. Writes decision explaining ruling and informs
interested parties of results. Confers with personnel of employer or agency
involved to obtain additional information bearing on appeal, and to clarify
future implications of decisions.  Participate in court proceedings against
claimants attempting to obtain benefits through fraud. Render informal opinions
on points of law in questionable cases to facilitate initial determination of
benefit eligibility or imposition of penalties.

Coordinate and manage disability benefit administration for average caseload of
150-200 claimants. Analyze disability requirements based on individual state

effective claim service. Identify potential rehabilitation candidates and make

funds, and administer financial database for premium billing, benefit enrollment,
COBRA, unemployment and other functions. Develop a disability absence management
program, track benefits costs, and prepare ad hoc reports for management review.
Train and mentor junior analysts; serve as liaison between in-house departments
and outside vendors, and participate in unit meetings to recommend improvement in
productivity standards, service levels, and work quality cases.

Managed daily cash flow activity, scheduled annuity payouts, and implemented
effective internal control procedures when processing client fund withdrawal
