Senior Programmer Analyst 2005-2009
o Supported the Alaska and SouthEast Service Center System, including
interactive and batch functionality for Underwriting, Billing, and Agency Support
processing.
o Modified, tested and deployed the integration of the Application Processing
System rewrite project within Alaska Service Center system, using the Producer
WebService.
o Developed and deployed enhancements for numerous scripts for error fixing
within the AK/SESC to comply with production server lockdown requirements,
including monthly and daily batch errors, check register issues, company and
producer data issues, and printing errors.
o Developed and deployed Quota Inquiry processing for Annual Updates, and
converted Quota Inquiry Annual and Quarterly data-loading to Tidal processing.

o Designed, developed and implemented the EARS personal automobile driver
incident reporting interface. Extracted data using COBOL with DB2/SQL from the
mainframe, to create external reporting tape to request driver incidents on a
monthly basis. This project yielded time savings by allowing for elimination of
some manual reporting by field office personal.

Applications Programmer Specialist 2000-2004
Lead Developer for the Data Warehouse project.
o Supervised other employees using AS/400 COBOL extracts, and SQL Server
7.0/2000 database design and stored procedures, to populate the Actuarial policy
and claims data warehouse. Performed data modeling and database performance
management duties in a team environment.
o Developed and implemented SQL stored procedures loading the data warehouse
star schema design, and summarizing the data for use with COGNOS BI tools.
o Used COGNOS Impromptu, PowerPlay, and ReportNet for ad-hoc querying, and to
create reports and data cubes. These new interfaces yielded 2-3 per month of
time savings for the Actuarial department.
Senior Applications Programmer Analyst 1997-2000
o Designed, developed, and implemented an Agency Experience Intranet-based
application. Used Microsoft Visual Interdev, ASP, VBScript, and HTML 4.0.
Learned new technologies from an external consultant, and delivered the project
within 3 months. Designed and developed the back-end database using SQL Server
7.0, including the web security portion. Built SQL stored procedures and
accessed them with ASP and VBScript.
o Developed a SQL Server 6.5 database for an Interactive Voice Recognition
application. Maintained applications’ front-end “call handler” routines using
Enterprise Interaction Center from Interactive Intelligence, Inc. Provided time
and cost savings by reducing by 50% the number of routine calls that employees in
the Billing and Underwriting units needed to handle.
o Responsible for the maintenance of the Executive Information System database,
using SQL Server 6.5.

o Designed, developed and implemented an Access97 database application for
claims checks from the AS/400. The project became key to Financial and Claims
Department identification and reconciliation of internal accounting
discrepancies, eliminating approximately 1 day of manual work per month.
o Developed the data conversion from an IBM mainframe to an AS/400 platform in a
team environment, for both online and batch statistical applications and data.
o Designed and developed the Casualty Limits Profile reinsurance system,
resulting in a significant upgrade in processing and reliability for reinsurance
treaty negotiations.
