system administrator for two of the center’s three largest systems and provided
secondary support for all remaining systems. Served as the sole on-site support
for the company’s Iowa customer service call centers for the majority of my
tenure, managing operations issues and third-party relationships while providing
prompt IT support for 120 agents at two sites. Heavily involved in converting
these centers from Siemens ROLM 9006.5 to Aspect 8.0, resulting in cost savings
and improved customer service. Designed and wrote the web front-end programming
for a project that converted a mainframe reference database to the web, saving an
estimated $100,000 per year. Led applications development security team, and was
actively involved with management efforts to cost-justify a multi-million-dollar
voice system upgrade and develop improvements in business processes and customer
relations initiatives.

software. Strengthened the firm’s technology situation by installing anti-virus
and other security measures, upgrading hardware and software, and installing a
backup system.

Responsible for human resources (HR) application development, May 1997 to

Maintained Resumix job application system. Partnered with recruiting and payroll
teams to improve processes, resulting in increased HR team efficiency and
accuracy, reduced costs, and reduced time to hire. Served as HR Unix system
administrator (SunOS 4.14), then acted as team and project leader during a
six-month system upgrade, including the oversight of two programmers and
migration of data from a proprietary Unix database to Oracle. Developed web
interface integrating Resumix and SAP using Microsoft InterDev (ASP), Resumix
Interact, and Oracle SQL*Plus, so Oracle data presented dynamically on the web;
presented at 1998 Resumix International KnowledgeShare conference in San
Francisco on this process. Served as HR Web Administrator beginning July 1997;
designed and then served as the lead programmer for the HR Intranet.

Served as the project leader and lead programmer for an Oracle-based raw
material tracking system at a factory named among the top ten in the nation by
Industry Week; the new system satisfied management objectives and resulted in

computer platform across client-server network, resulting in a modern network,

savings. My performance during this time resulted in a full time position at
Rockwell-Collins after graduation.
TECHNICAL SKILL SUMMARY
At Rockwell-Collins, maintaining the Resumix system required intimate knowledge
of Oracle and Crystal Reports, triggers, views, tables, procedures, and more;
before upgrading the system to Oracle, it required the writing of Unix Perl and
AWK scripts. At Alliant Energy, all major programs were Oracle-based, requiring
work with Oracle tables, triggers, procedures, packages, and PowerBuilder, custom
SQL, Seagate Info, and Aspect reports; I also supported applications running on
mainframe, Unix, Windows, DOS, and OS/2, and wrote Perl scripts. I am trained on
Edify 7 and Edify 8 (application development 1 and 2), Lotus Notes, and
Silverstream.
