Spearheaded sales growth and profit improvement in the company's flagship PGA
TOUR Superstore. Created, developed and led a management team focused on growth

significantly grew and nurtured business sales to commercial partners throughout
North and South Carolina. Networked with store management and associates to
provide specialized education/training for everyone in business sales

analysts and systems specialists at Kmart Super Centers.
Key Achievements:
* Consistently achieved #1 or #2 ranking in annual sales and profit for all PGA
TOUR Superstores, in addition to serving as the profitable clearinghouse for all
discontinued and clearance products.
* Continually ranked in the top 10 in weekly, monthly and annual results among

Operations & Administration
Revitalized operational standards to elevate everyday store appearance and
enhance the customer shopping experience for PGA TOUR Super Store. Developed a
strong operational infrastructure and invigorated sales, profits, operating
performance and people development for Kmart Super Centers in an eight-state
region with $1.3B in revenue. Developed and implemented standard operating
procedures for the field organization that improved bottom-line operating profits
of the entire Kmart Super Center organization. Effectively coordinated and
managed space allocation, personnel issues, management development and overhead
budgeting.
Key Achievements:
* Spearheaded a major remodel and expansion of the flagship PGA TOUR Superstore
store to add an additional 15,000 square feet of selling space, sooner than
expected and well under budget.
* Substantially reduced inventory shrinkage while achieving store "best ever"
results within the company.
* Defined and implemented a focused hiring process that significantly improved
the quality of performance in those hired and minimized the turnover for all
positions within the store.
* Developed and applied a pay for performance compensation philosophy where
pay, recognition and reward were tied to desired behavior and results.
* Significantly lowered operating expenses for Kmart Super Centers from 22.7%
down to 19.8% level over an 18-month period of time, saving $1.6 million for the
region.
Logistics & Distribution
Successfully managed and directed all aspects of the inventory management
division consisting of a $14M budget and 295 associates for Kmart. Oversaw
allocation of merchandise into the distribution centers and out to the stores.
Directed replenishment of all merchandise for both the Hardlines and Softlines
business groups. Proven leadership skills in the development, training and
coordination of four planning & distribution managers and their respective
logistics coordinators to successfully implement and effectively manage their
merchandising business plans.
Key Achievements:
* Liquidated a total of $1.2 billion in old, discontinued inventory from
company ownership over a period of nine months without any dramatic impact to
bottom line operating profits.
* Directed the analysis and overhaul of the entire import merchandise flow
process.
* Defined and implemented process improvements necessary to enhance overall
accuracy of store inventory and allow product replenishment to occur more
effectively based on improved store-level unit integrity.
