MedSolutions , a pioneer in Radiology benefits Management provides services and
products that enable significant cost savings to the Health Plans/Insurance
companies and improve patient outcomes . The major Insurance companies who are
the clients, benefit from automated patient authorizations by a Predictive
Intelligence technology.
There was a need to build an application that fits in the business work flow
that speeds up the patient authorization. Since the consuming application can be
a portal written in .Net or Intake application written using PeopleSoft, we had
the need to build the solution using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that
will be consumed by both .Net application and PeopleSoft application. The
development was a staged approach with first building framework webservice(ESS)
that will be accessed by different UI.
Enterprise Survey Service (ESS) : This is C# Web Service that will render
surveys to calling application based on the criteria passed to it. The types of
data that can influence the resulting survey include but are not limited to the
study being performed, the procedure being requested, the condition of the
patient or the specific ailment of the patient. This became the foundation web
service that is consumed by different UI for different purposes. Uses Data
Director Design patterns to manage data flow . Used VS2005, .Net3.5, WCF, SQL
2005, Software Guidance package etc.
Predictive Radiology Intelligence - Survey Manager (PRI-SM) :
The primary goals of the PRI-SM initiative are to collect the data related to
clinical surveys and the administration of those surveys. The PRISM user
interface incorporated Page Controller design pattern to accept input from a page
request, invoke the requested actions on the model and determine the correct view
to display. All views will be implemented as ASP.NET User Controls and controlled
on a single page. PRI-SM makes a webservice call to ESS for data. Uses VS2005,
.Net3.5, Enterprise Library 4.0, WCF, Guidance package etc
PRI-ME (Model Engine) This application employs products such as Predictive
Intelligence technology which uses physician’s ordering pattern data accumulated
over a decade, to provides nearly instant prior authorization in areas where a
physician consistently practices within evidence-based guidelines.The Model
Engine is the application that will request case information from ISAAC
(PeopleSoft app) and the Survey Manager (ESS), supply that information to a
Neural Model and return the result of the models prediction back to the calling
application. This will enable the patient case to be authorized or Denied.

The PRIMATE is an administrative application used to maintain PRI-SM surveys and
PRIME Models. Written as a Smart Client application with rich UI features. Has

RCR (Rapid Clinical Resolution) is an application written to enhance nurse
workflow in the patient case adjudication process. Assist Nurse with complex

application called Epicor. Involved in the Epicor remediation project, where in
all the websites that gets plugged into Epicor had to be reengineered to suit the
latest version of Epicor. This involved using tools like SQLCompare to assess the
data/code changes, changing the interfaces for various financial websites like AP

name a few. Past Due Labs (PDL) helps practices with a workflow to track and
manage lab tests that are past due.
Medical Decision Making helps physicians to enter medical data such as
diagnosis, procedures, medications etc.
Patient Portal allows patients to login and enter their Medical History data
prior to their appointment.
Some of the features include capability to search and filter based on patient
