Helped manage a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain consisting of approximately
50 servers Bristol, TN and Dallas, TX, including 5, 2-node active/passive
clusters and associated storage arrays.
Managed services included Exchange 2000 Server, Internet Information Services,
Microsoft Cluster Services, Terminal Services, and SQL Server 2000.
Helped roll out and manage several Linux-based servers (using either Ubuntu
Server 8.04 or CentOS 5.0) for web services, Vmware Server 2, and ZoneMinder
video security.
Acted as primary desktop support for about 200 Windows XP Pro workstations in
both Bristol and Dallas.
Highlights include:
Developed a PHPAGI script for a Linux-based Asterisk test environment which
queried a SQL Server database for locations based on a caller's ZIP code, and
then used text-to-speech to read back the 3 nearest store locations to the
caller.
Developed an Excel workbook and associated VBA code to interface with 2 particle
counter devices used in filtration effectiveness testing. The spreadsheet
instructed the counters to begin a test cycle, displayed live particle count
data, and retrieved the counts from the 3 most recent runs to plug into the
averaging and other calculations used in other sheets in the workbook.
