CONSULTANT:  Served in capacity of Director of Software Development for
international trucking company.  Responsible for all day-to-day software
development and maintenance across all platforms.  Consistently deliver
practical, innovative, and comprehensive analysis, design, and application
solutions.  Daily interfacing with all levels from senior management to end-user.
 I.T. representative to senior management regarding project updates and direction
and design of future projects.  Manage programming staff and other consultants on
AS/400 encompassing all core transportation related software packages (including
truck communications, EDI, etc.) and Lawson software package (payroll, HR,
financials).  Developed and implemented lane tracking and analysis system
revealing inefficiencies and imbalances resulting in reductions in empty
repositioning, increased practical dispatched miles and market growth in most
optimally performing lanes.  Delivered GUI fleet tracking solution allowing
dispatchers broader view of fleet locations and movements.  Utilizing this system
allowed an increase in “drop and swap” shipments keeping drivers closer to home
increasing driver retention and reducing new driver training expenses. 
Consistently called upon to deliver on-demand, ad-hoc data combining user’s
request and my individual, experience-based, industry value-added information. 
Results of these efforts have reduced misrouting, increased fleet reporting
accuracy, reduced inaccurate dispatching information and increased accuracy and
reliability of customer invoicing and driver settlement processes.  Developed and
implemented intranet strategy for corporate office including senior management
EIS reporting (via Digital Dashboard) and multi-platform data synchronization. 
Designed and developed strategy to replace ISP hosting services with in-house
server farm to facilitate real-time data access for external and internal users. 
Developed and implemented coding standards on each platform.  Spearheaded
development and integration of handheld (Pocket PC) applications and devices. 
Manage mid-tier and web development staff.  Perform coding on AS/400, mid-tier,
and web based platforms to support staff and ensure timely delivery of product. 
Work closely with help desk staff to ensure timely issue resolution.  Led
training classes on specific software packages and general application processes
to foster broader knowledge base of all I.T. staff.  Interviewed potential staff
and performed annual staff reviews.  Assumed CIO and/or Network Manager

Prior to assuming Director capacity; coding and design support as part of new
system implementation converting from mainframe system to AS/400.  Extensive
coding to customize transportation software package and interfaces with Lawson
financials and Qualcomm satellite communications and positioning package. 
Management and user interface during acceptance testing and design sessions. 
Year 2000 compliance analysis, coding, and testing.  Relied upon heavily to draw
upon transportation experiences and provide project direction.  Asked to train
in-house staff on software and new programmers in RPG.

	Design, coding, and implementation of internet corporate web-sites.  Included
converting existing static pages to dynamic content and individual recognition
and customization modules.  Implementation using multiple software packages and
databases based upon client requirements.  

Performed support maintenance and new development for international PC retail
company on AS/400 platform.  Utilizing base retail package designed and created
custom application extensions and company/industry specific new processes. 
Worked with all aspects of the retail system from ordering, receipt, and
distribution of merchandise through sales receipts, financial postings, and EIS
reporting.  Evaluated and modified modules to ensure Year 2000 compliance. 
Relied upon to provide extensive PC-based support including inter-networking and
workstation application support.
             
      Design of internet-based e-commerce system for international fastener
distribution company.  Included over 30,000 available individual component
pieces.  Performed process from conception and design, through development and
deployment using a variety of PC and AS/400 based applications.

      Complete re-engineering of intermodal system for major rail and trucking
company.  Included design of database, module structure and flow, system coding,
project planning, and managed personnel coordination and supervision.  Design and
coding of dray trip creation and tracking system, midrange to mainframe interface
for resource/information sharing. Design and coding of marketing mass price
modification system allowing for “what-if” scenarios.  User interface at all
levels throughout the design and implementation process.  Coordinated and
performed enhancements to marketing system to allow multi-platform bridge
