Responsible for all of the aspects of database administration in the environment
of 15 production and 25 development databases (GIS/OMS, MOBILE DATA, WMIS,
GENTRADER and NMARKET) running on HPUX, AIX and Windows 2000 servers in the fast
paced environment of installation, version upgrade, backup, recovery, performance
tuning for databases and applications, user administration, and capacity planning
database and application design and development.
Primary responsibilities included:
•	Installed and upgraded Oracle and SAP databases to Oracle 10g and 9i,
installed and configured Oracle 10g application server and Oracle 10g RAC on UNIX
system.
•	Installed and configured Oracle 10g Grid Control to help in daily management,
database tuning, database recovery, capacity planning and performance management.

•	Installed and configured OID (Oracle Internet Directory) as a centralized
repository for storing Oracle’s net service names on UNIX system.
•	Installed and configured Data Guard as management, monitoring, and automation
software infrastructure that creates, maintains, and monitors one or more standby
databases to protect enterprise data from failures, disasters, errors, and
corruptions.
•	Set up the Prod/Development/Test database environment.
•	Capacity Planning and storage management.  
•	Periodic performance monitoring and fine-tuning of Databases/Application.
•	Set up user profiles and roles as per the access level of user for the data
and application security. 
•	Database Export/Import, Hot and Cold Backup setup and evaluating the Backup
and              recovery Procedures periodically. 
•	Composed shell scripts and scheduled them using cronjob for the database
backups, data refreshes & scheduled maintenance. 
•	Compile, troubleshoot and maintain stored procedures. 
•	Design, Development and implement shell scripts for database monitoring
activities.
