My duties include designing, updating, and managing U.S. Embassy Beijing’s
SharePoint Intranet Site. Moreover, I have created and configured a SharePoint
server running in Microsoft Exchange Server. I developed training materials and
trained more than 300 U.S. Embassy employees in SharePoint, Microsoft InfoPath
and other software applications. I transitioned the paper-based embassy request
forms into an electronic form utilizing Microsoft InfoPath. I have installed new
hardware and software applications on workstations. Additionally, I assisted with
ISC operations, installations, and maintenance associated with Windows 2003 and
XP LAN and assorted stand-alone computers installed throughout the
compounds/offices that comprise the U.S. Embassy. I replaced and installed client
workstation components such as power supplies, RAM and video cards. Furthermore,
I installed client workstations on a LAN and configured network printers. As a
system administrator I added and removed users, added computers to a domain, and
configured permissions for local users and global groups. One of my
troubleshooting activities is reviewing event logs for system, application, and
security errors.
