PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Insurance Industry
Served as Consultant for CrossUSA; a leading provider of IT outsourcing to rural
America. Primarily serve clients in the insurance, financial and media
industries, providing production support for A-Plus commercial insurance system
for multiple companies. Completed the following for WR Berkley Insurance in an
HP-Unix environment using COBOL 74 and Informix Database:
Wrote a highly effective program to apply data fixes to files, enhanced Rep Type
Add program to handle potential conditions.
Wrote two front-end programs to generate control records while supporting large
polices unable to process through the system. Resulting in an audit trail report
which saves time enabling the business side to utilize this process for changes
versus the technical side.
Provided technical and business support for the Auto Club Group on the The
Innovation Group (TiG) IPM Product; a property and casualty insurance
application. Assigned to the OACIS Operations Support Group managing daily
production activities in an IBM OS/390 environment, utilizing COBOL II DB2 TSO
CICS. Wrote two specialty utility programs: copied a policy from the production
environment into the test environment saving the technical side hours in
recreating the problem. Second project was a data fix program enabling audit
reports recording before and after changes.
Successfully resolved post implementation issue resulting from coding or
procedural errors and corrected DB2 table integrity issues.
Served as a Senior Technical Consultant for The Innovation Group on their source
management system. Designed several documents and completed modifications to
clients’ systems on-site.
Synchronized business tables across different application environments and
expedited system test and quality assurance resolution.
Insurance/Financial Services
Selected to consulting team for Computer Science Corporation’s Financial
Services Group to install Vantage on client host system and conduct installation
verification test. Developed agent conversion process encompassing three
applications; CCA, Life70 and Legacy System. Also a member of the Disaster
Recovery Team, Project Support Group and Cogen (P&C product) Development
Management Team responsible for statistical reporting. Delivered $70,000 in
savings by developing an automated procedure for the field expansion.
Improved online recovery procedure through ongoing support of the Life70 product
for an outsource client. Acted as first point of contact for technical support
of CA Legent Endevor, Compuware Shared Services and Xpediter (TSO & CICS), CICS,
CSC FSG Tools. Developed install guidelines for the Vantage product and special
tools for a project involved in the setup of project environments.
Leisure & Hospitality, Healthcare & Employment Industries
Served as a Consultant for Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation. Automated
integration between their construction project management and financial system
Dun & Bradstreet MARS/G. Successfully integrated with a mainframe environment.
Competed project ahead of deadline and exceeded client’s expectations. Upgraded
the Texas Workforce Commission’s assembler programs for Y2K. Developed and
supported progress tracking application. Used REXX, ISPF Services, COBOL II and
DB2. Managed the setup of ChangeMan source management application and modified
the development environment procedure which reduced the number of steps for the
application developer to perform.
Banking/Financial Services Industry
Resolved daily end user application problems as a Senior Programmer Analyst for
Security Pacific Bank. Installed enhancements for the Personal Trust application
through in-house modifications and data conversions. Served as the Lead
Programmer Analyst for Mellon Personal Trust Accounting Pension and Stock System
Inc. Corporate Trust applications. Developed an automated install process for the
Mellon application which reduced installs from 6-12 weeks down to 4 weeks and
intermediate fixes from 1-6 months down to 2 weeks. Saved $2 million through
enhancements of the Personal Trust Accounting Pension system.
