05/2009 – Present: SQL Server responsibilities. I managed the support and
implementation SQL Server 2005 on 12 Production Servers and SQL Server 2008 on 2
Production Servers. Each is an active/passive cluster. Support includes backup
and recovery (including Disaster Recovery Requirements and Testing Fail over with
log shipping replication) and 8 development and test servers each with
active/passive clusters. I am responsible for researching and applying patches
for SQL 2005 & 2008. I have worked with Application’s Team to implement
security, auditing, and company compliance standards as well as focusing on
performance tuning and troubleshooting various SQL issues.

06/2008 – Present: SQL Server responsibilities. I managed the successful
implementation SQL Server 2005 on 2 Production Servers (vendor package software)
including backup and recovery (including Disaster Recovery Requirements and
Testing Fail over with snap replication) and 4 test servers. I am responsible
for researching and applying patches for SQL 2005. I have worked with
Application’s Team to implement Technical Controls for security, auditing, and
company compliance standards.
06/2008 – Present: ORACLE responsibilities: I am Primary Support for all Oracle
Databases. Currently supporting 8i, 9i, 10g and implementing 11g for testing.
All of these databases are on various UNIX boxes. (Solaris, HPux, Linux, and
UNIX) The sizes of these databases vary from 200mb to 10 Terabytes. I have
completed the documentation and testing of backup and recovery strategies using
NAS appfiler Snapmirror technology. I am responsible for maintaining all DDL,
permissions, schema changes, tuning, backup, recovery, patches, upgrades and
related maintenance. I have worked with Application’s Team to implement
Technical Controls for security, auditing, and company compliance standards.

06/2001 – 06/2008: SQL Server responsibilities: I became Project Lead for new
DBA’s and all new SQL Server Installations. I attended end-user group meetings
to determine Server and Software needs and capacity planning. I was included to
assist in hiring Contract Staff. I was also responsible for mentoring new
Contractors. I managed the successful implemented SQL Server 2000 upgrade on 20
Servers including backup and recovery (including Disaster Recovery Requirements
and Testing Fail over with log shipping). I implemented active/passive SQL
Server Clustering on SQL 2005. I have researched and applied patches for SQL
2000 and SQL 2005. I have worked with Application’s Team to implement
performance and tuning of SQL statements prior to Production installation.
05/2003 – 06/2008: ORACLE responsibilities: I am Primary Support for Oracle10g
RAC on UNIX. I support ORACLE windows platform for Maximo/AIM and PRISM
software, Environmental Health and Services Software. I am responsible for
maintaining all DDL, Permission, and schema changes, tuning, backup, recovery,
patches, upgrades and related maintenance. I have successfully performed
Disaster Recovery procedures to remote site. We have 7 Test DBs, 1 Prod DB. I
have also worked with both internal and external auditors to configure ORACLE
DB’s and SQL Server DB’s to be SOX compliant for audit services with focus on
security and procedural change control.

Sr. Programmer Analyst (Client site Grocer’s Supply Co.)
I performed a conversion of the current VSAM file structure to a DB2 relational
database. I worked to convert existing in-house code to a new DB2 based software
package designed for the grocery business. My focus was on the billing and store
order management aspects of the software and SQL performance.

I designed and implement a conversion of the current IMS database structure to
DB2. My duties were the day to day support of the Test and Production
environments. My major focus was performance, tuning and reorganization of these
table structures. I did analysis, design, and implementation of systems in the
following areas: Child Support Enforcement, Telecommunications Billing Systems.
Consulted clients on procedures, test plans, and coding fixes for Year 2000
"bug". These systems processed using the following structures and environments:
VSAM, COBOL II, COBOL 370, CICS, DB2, IMS/DB, TELON, PL/I, and batch.

I performed analysis, design, and modifications for COBOL Batch and CICS
programs. I created and used Eztrieve Plus program report generator for rapid
file retrieval. These responsibilities also included day to day maintenance and
support of the following systems: A/R, Credit, Classified Advertising, Marketing
and Research, and General Ledger processing in a COBOL, VSAM, and CICS
environment.
