Key areas of my responsibilities included, ADSL faults resolution by performing
tests using BT tools, Domain hosting, FTP support, Managed servers, Email server,
Spam protection, firewall management (ports blocking, unblocking), Fax to mail
services. Providing 1st line support to resellers and corporate customers which
included receiving calls, raising HEAT tickets, providing resolution where
appropriate and escalating faults with managed services onto 2nd level
back-end engineers ensuring customer satisfaction. Respond to customers when
resolution is confirmed and in the interim to maintain confidence in the service.

Final Project (Transformation Engine)
While working with DPS for six months as a part of contract role to build
Extraction module of software Transformation Engine (ETL tool). Transformation
Engine was developed on Red Hat flavor of Linux Platform using QT Designer as a
part of ETL tool for a data warehouse. This software could dynamically execute
the instructions to transform the data thereby preparing to be placed in a data
warehouse. It extracted the data from Oracle database using Pro *C/C++ technology
in which C/C++ code is compiled with Oracle, Programmers can then apply the
instruction (programming code to transform the data at column level and execute
the instructions. Instruction saving mechanism was also a provided feature in the
software.

MAJOR PROJECTS
• OracleCConnect:
The main purpose of this application was to provide the User an SQL like query
language in C to connect to Oracle databases. It was built on Red Hat Linux 7.3
platform with Oracle8i as the targeted database. Main aim was to provide a SQL
PLUS like environment in C language to access Oracle database. OCI was used to
compile C code with Oracle.
• MyCompiler :
Compiler of Self created language NIFA was developed in Visual C++. This
compiler implemented all three phases that are required to convert source code
into Intermediate code, the included phases were Lexical Analysis, Parsing and
Translation of assembly language code.
• DuplicateFileFinder (.Net)
This utility was build in C# whichs load collection of files from a specified
directory, It then compares the file contents to see if the files are duplicate.
Software also caters for truncated files i.e. truncated files are also marked as
duplicate. Code is optimized to make minimum file comparisons. Code efficiency is
shown by implementing timing which shows how much time has been taken by the code
to execute. Final Output shows set of duplicated files in list and user can
delete the files according to their choice.
• SketchEasy:
A sketcher application developed in Visual C++, like paint brush program
available in windows in which different drawings can be made. The application
provided variety of shapes, saving and printing functionalities for different
diagrams as well using serialization.
• RGB4DOS:
24 bit Color support in C was provided by programming palette register.
Simulations of RGB windows environment was given in Dos environment by
implementing VESA standard and by direct hardware programming of SVGA card.
• CRC implementation:
Cyclic Redundancy Check was implemented for error detection in C++.
• Round Robin:
Process scheduling technique for operating system was implemented in C++.
Simulation of round robin was implemented with visual interfacing in C/C++.
• Complete UML documentation:
Documentation of Library Information System was done in which Unified Modeling
Language (UML) was used for Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
• Student Information System:
Complete information of student can be seen through the software. The student
could register online plus results of the students were shown if the student is
already registered. Oracle 8i was used as the backend database to develop the
software.
• Dynamic Validation:
This software was built in Microsoft Visual C++. It contained dynamic Grid whose
rows and columns could be changed at run time. There was a formula bar on which
user could apply any kind of formula on any cell of the Grid. The formula was
evaluated for number value.

INTERESTS AND ACIEVEMENTS
• I secured third position with cumulative GPA (3.76) in my MCS from
International Islamic University.
• One of the best solutions for On-Spot programming competition at IT MANIA
(inter university competition) held at the International Islamic University,
Islamabad.
• An active member of Computer Science Society at the International Islamic
University, Islamabad.
• My degree project (Transformation Engine) was recognized as one of the best
projects of my batch.
• I love to play cricket in my spare time. Martial Arts (KUNG FU) is also one of
my passions which helps me focus in a lot of things in life. Currently I am green
shawl in Wusu Kung Fu.
• I am a very good snooker player, presently my friends are trying to beat me in
snooker but none of them have succeeded so far.
