Byer is one of the leading garment manufacturers in the USA. It first began as a
garments company in 1964. Today, the company has grown to include a huge
selection of clothing styles for all ages. You’ll probably recognize some of
their labels from some of the big Department Stores around.
I am currently working as an Oracle Analyst/Developer for Byer. My main task is
to provide support in the implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite on the
whole organization. Supporting role includes analysis, design and programming of
new requirements and attending to issues of existing applications made using
Delphi (Delphi 6/Delphi 2005), customized Oracle Reports/Forms (developed using
Oracle Forms/Reports 6i), Foxpro, Crystal Reports 8.5, Rave Reports 4.0, Barcode
Anything. The company recently purchased the whole package of the Oracle
E-Business Suite version 10g with the intention of replacing their old system
with this new package. I am part of the team that is tasked to create a number of
customized oracle forms/reports/procedures/functions/triggers where the new
Oracle Apps are found to be lacking and are unable to support the process
structure of the company. The technology that are mainly used here are Oracle
Developer Suite 10g (which covers forms, reports, designer, discoverer) and
Delphi 2005. These customized applications are being fully integrated to the
