Project Description As a result of changes to Basel II Risk Management standards
(these rules mean that the greater risk to which the bank is exposed, the greater
the amount of capital the bank needs to hold to safeguard its solvency and
overall economic stability), the Bank is now able to make a choice between
holding capital and taking out Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) to cover its
lending exposure.
The Bank has determined that its approach to this choice will be to identify the
low risk customers, charge them a Low Deposit Premium and hold the capital
themselves rather than taking out LMI for the loan and charging the premium to
the customer.
This is a mutually beneficial scenario for both the Bank and its customers as
the customers are charged less in up-front fees, and the Bank is able to collect
the Low Deposit Premium as income rather than passing it directly on to the Banks
LMI insurer as a premium.

functionality to that of the current BILO system, allowing the broker a more
efficient way to complete applications offline as well as allowing an instant
decision when the application is electronically submitted.
