Age: 38
I was born in Havana City on march 19th, 1971.

Summary:

 System and software engineer, project manager, analyst, software
architect and designer, coder.
 Strengths: generalist, high self motivation and self-taught skills.
 Knowledge of IEEE/ISO/IEC systems and software engineering standards.

Experience:

Tecnomatica Enterprise, Telematic Division, Havana City
Principal Computer Systems Specialist, responsible for:

2008 – today
 Chief of ASP Group. This group of developers has the mission of
developing business automation applications whose capabilities are provided as
Internet services.
 Within the group, I’m responsible for software quality assurance
planning. This includes quality, configuration management, verification,
validation and infrastructure plans. I also manage projects and perform business
modeling, architectural and detailed design, coding and testing tasks.
 I have been assigned to specific technical roles in ARCOFLOW
application developments projects. For example, a complaint processing system for
the Main Office of MINBAS (Cuban Ministry of Basic Industry), among others that
are being developed.

2005 – 2008
 Development of ARCOFLOW system. This system has the mission of making
easy the implementation of any business process automation application. ARCOFLOW
is a generalization of Universal Tracking Server. This has features that allow
business experts to conduct BPM tasks. The capabilities of the applications
supported in ARCOFLOW are provided through internet technologies applying an ASP
(Application Service Provider) business model. The structural aspect of the model
is modeled using ER methodologies. I developed an own notation to model the
dynamic aspects that is based on business object lifecycle paradigm. Other
elements that are part of a business model are: organization charts, roles,
responsibilities matrices, business rules, voting mechanisms, decision
synchronization configuration, permissions for recording, modifying, retrieving,
making decisions on business objects and notifications configuration.
 I was responsible for managing the project and leading a four engineer
team. I was also responsible for the analysis and architectural design. I also
performed the detailed design and coding of databases and part of the business
layer components. Applied technologies: Windows 2003 Ent. Ed., Active Directory,
IIS, ASP.NET, C#, VC++ 6.0, COM+, Network Load Balancing and Clustering services,
XML web services, Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.***-
 During this period I was responsible for the migration of ARCO 92
service to ARCOFLOW platform. This included the development of migration
utilities.

2004 – 2005
 Development of ARCO 92 Service for acquisition contracts and payments
tracking. Responsible for the analysis, architectural and detailed design,
coding, testing and operation. This specific purpose service had the mission of
automating business processes derived from the Regulation 92/2004 by Cuban
Central Bank. Its capabilities were provided as an ASP business scheme. The
service consisted of a software distributed application which made use of the
following technologies and tools: Windows 2003, Active Directory, DNS, IIS,
COM/COM+, ASP.NET, VC++ 6.0, VB.NET, SQL Server 2000 Ent. Ed., Transact-SQL,
Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0, XML Web services. This system reused the
Universal Tracking Server components, thinking of contracts and payments as
mobile objects. In this way a complete traceability of processes were attained.
 At the end of this period ARCO 92 reached 700 subscribers from 130
enterprises of MINBAS.
 I also carried out subscriber supporting tasks by phone, email and in
situ.

Tecnomatica Enterprise, Industrial Automation Division, Havana City
Senior Computer Systems Specialist, responsible for:

2001 - 2004
 Responsible for the project management of the development and initial
deployment of the National Cylinder Tracking System for the Cuban Industrial
Gases Company (EGI). This project consisted in the integration of hardware
components for automatic identification, mobile computing, wireless networks and
servers, with a multilayer software distributed application fully developed
within the project. The goal of the system was to track 300000 cylinders owned by
EGI across the country. Other tasks that were carried out: acquisition agreement,
basic engineering, detailed engineering and procurement.
 During the project I was assigned to the following roles: project
manager, principal analyst, architect and developer of the following modules:
system databases, business components of the UTS (Tecnomática Universal Tracking
Server), client application. Technologies applied: Windows 2000 Advanced Server,
Active Directory, Terminal Services, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise, Log Shipping,
databases replication, COM, COM+, Visual C++ 6.0, VB 6.0, VB.NET, ASP.NET,
Microsoft Management Console. As a result, I developed the Tecnomática Universal
Tracking Server, a reusable set of business components with the mission of making
easy the implementation of tracking application of any kind: cylinders,
containers, animals, persons, business objects, etc.
 Project team was formed of 6 engineers.

1999 - 2000
 Responsible for the software maintenance of PanelNT systems, installed
at 100MWatts units 1, 2 and 3 of Eastern Havana Power Plant, and the 100MWatts
units 3 and 4 of Renté Power Plant. Responsible for managing the software
configuration of these systems.
 Conceptual and feasibility analyses for the retrofit of the Mixing Area
Control System of the Concrete Plant that belongs to the Construction Enterprise
No. 5 of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba.
 Development of MS Access, MS Excel and Visual Basic applications. Among
them, an Excel template for controlling the budget of a development project.

evaluation, making recommendations on industrial automation projects organization
and planning, and the standardization of industrial automation technologies.

1996 - 1999
 Coding, unit testing and integration testing of communications, data
processing, reports and failover PanelNT subsystems. These subsystems were code
in C and C++, employing MS-Visual C++. I also managed a project team formed of
three developers. The team was responsible for the development of the other
subsystems: GUIs, historic records and TCP/IP communication. PanelNT was a real
time application that used preemptive multitasking based on the threading model
of Windows NT. The application makes an intensive use of the operating system
resources by means of Win32 APIs.
 Technical assistance for upgrading Panel systems under MS-DOS to
PanelNT in unit 1 at Eastern Havana Power Plant and in the units 3 and 4 of Renté
Power Plant at Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.
 PanelNT System was awarded at “1998 Sciences and Techniques National
Forum” with “Outstanding prize”.
