Philosophy
I like coding data driven web applications. The technology does not matter as
much, since in my 10 years of experience, I have debugged or written code in
almost all the top languages. I write modular, extensible code which can be used
across multiple pages/applications and is highly dynamic in output. I can
organize the project, work in a team or work solo. What I really look for, is a
knowledgeable and task oriented management team.

Education
B.BA. (Information Systems), The George Washington University, 1997.

Technical Knowledge

HTML, DHTML, CSS, SQL.
Databases: Oracle 10g/9i/8i, SQL Server 7/2000, MySQL 5.0.
Servers: Apache, Resin, SunOne, IIS.
Operating Systems: Windows, SunOS, HP Unix, Ubuntu (Linux).

Experience
ITSource Technology (Northrop Grumman) – July, 2008 – October, 2008
Short term consultant at Northrop Grumman, working on enhancing web applications
in support of USPS. Web development work done in JSP, Java, Struts, Spring,
Apache, Tomcat and Oracle database, using Eclipse editor, CVS and Ant for builds.
Work included creating/changing JSP files, writing Java classes to process XML
or data files, integrating stand alone processes in a natively written Java cron
framework and improvements to the Spring framework.

Blue Leaf Technologies – September, 2007 – June, 2008
Worked as Assistant Project Manager, meeting with clients to gather requirements
and develop the best technological solution for their software needs. Engaged in
the complete life cycle of the project, from application design to development,
testing and deployment. Primary technologies used were PHP, JSP and Java.
Oracle 9i and MySql 5.0 databases were used to develop data driven web
applications.

Trilogy, Inc. (Temporary Contract) -- May, 2007 – July, 2007
Developed a web based application to track research projects and associated
funding. The application allows administrators and associated scientists to
input scientific data, track progress and measure progress against funding
allocated. This is a prototype system being demonstrated to the government. Web
front end developed in JSP, with some backend Java classes, running on a Windows
platform. Resin is the web and java appliction server, with MySQL 5.0 database
(Oracle 10g for production eventually) and Visual Source Safe as source control.
Three member development team.

SRA International, Inc. -- March, 2003 – April, 2007
OSD – Tech Lead on this project. Extensive interaction with the client to
develop complete life cycle of the web application, including requirements
gathering, software design, development, testing and deployment. Developed a web
application written in PL/SQL which assists in the management of government
research projects. The projects are tracked using various modules of this
application, such as financial status, technical status, contact info., etc. All
server side processing, backend database querying and HTML generation is done
using PL/SQL stored procedures and functions. Database server is Oracle 10G on a
SunOne (v5.9) machine. Access is limited by LDAP and Perl scripts. Extensive use
of Putty to interact with the SunOne machine.

US Army, SDDC – Developed an J2EE application that gathered data from various
departments, aggregated it and displayed it through a web application. The data
was gathered as XML files and validated using DTD's. It was then processed using
rules also defined in a XML schema. The web application used an MVC approach,
with JSP pages to render the view, Servlets as the controller and Java classes as
the model. Hibernate was used to model the database tables as object classes.
Used Java SMTP classes to email users. Developed SOAP based web services for
data querying and transfer to other applications. ANT was used to compile and
build the application and CVS was used for source control. Database was Oracle
9i. J2EE version 1.4, application server SunOne, running on Unix SunOS servers.

US Army, Logistics Command – Enhanced web application written in PHP, used to
track RFID related issues as part of logistics support. Added new functionality,
fixed bugs, supported end users and assisted the Army customer in developing new
requirements. Oracle 9i was the backend server.
CSOSA - Enhanced a web application for tracking and dealing with DC criminal
offenders. Responsible for developing new modules/code, fixing bugs and adding
enhancements. The application was written in ASP 3.0, VbScript, JavaScript,
HTML/DHTML and CSS. The database was Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and we used a lot
of re-usable stored procedures.

Evolver, Inc. -- July, 2002 – February, 2003
Hired to do automated testing on a very large system, compromising of multiple
databases, middleware and application servers. Wrote test cases and started
coding the automated scripts, however system development due to very large number
of managers, was extremely slow. Coded custom scripts in Visual Basic to test
data migration accuracy between multiple databases. Installed and maintained the
Test Director defect tracking database, with Oracle 9i backend on a Windows 2000
server. The reporting interface for the database was web based, coded in ASP.

Nextel -- January, 2001 – July, 2001
Tested web sites/applications (WAP) on Motorola phones configured to run on the
Nextel iDen network. Testing was done manually. Used hardware to analyze
phone/server data transmission latency issues and their impact on web
applications. Started reading up on coding in WML and HDML protocols. Wrote
detailed test plans for each site/application and compiled results in reports for
management.

Interealty.com (GEAC) -- April, 1999 – December, 2000
Lead test engineer in charge of automating the testing process, which before had
been manual. Wrote hundreds of scripts in Winrunner to test their web based real
estate applications and the standalone version of that application. Testing of
this nature requires learning the underlying technology, which in this case was
ASP, SQL Server and embedded Java applets. The application also used COM objects
to control state and data access, written in C++. Using my scripts, we had one
touch testing of the entire site, with the test results dumped in a database.
These results I extracted using ASP and published on a website, so all managers
and developers could see current application status. I also wrote scripts in
Loadrunner to simulate user load in access of 150K users. This involves
configuring and managing several servers to act as a swarm. I managed 3 other
people who were the original test team.

Computer Sciences Corporation, Inc. – January, 1999 – March, 1999
Hired to automate the testing of a large and complex Air Traffic Control System,
for Y2K certification, using Winrunner. The ATCS, written in C++, had over 250
inter-dependent screens displaying date/time data, which was connected to an
Oracle database. Developed detailed test scenarios to test all date
related/impacted fields. Managed a team of 3 workers, used to setup test system
(6 workstations, db server), collect user simulated data for scripts and analyze
test results. For liability/security reasons the testing was independently
verified by an on-site third party contractor from SRA. We also did extensive
testing documentation, screen shots of everything, data dumps, etc. to provide
proof of our testing results.

Discovery Channel, Inc. -- November, 1998 – December, 1998
Tested the SAP (HR/Financial) modules implementation using Winrunner. Analyzed
the SAP modules and met with the developers to develop sample data. Wrote test
case scenarios, automated test scripts and compiled the results in detailed
reports.

ALP, Inc. (Fannie Mae) -- May, 1997 – October, 1998
Automated the testing of financial applications for Y2K certification at Fannie
Mae. Many applications dealt with complex bond mechanics where date fields and
the data was linked across multiple windows/applications. Analyzed the
applications to define test parameters, wrote test cases and then programmed
testing scripts. Used Xrunner to automate testing of Unix based applications,
which were more complex and roughly 70% of the total. Used Winrunner for Windows
and mainframe based applications. Created over 500 complex scripts where the data
was in external text/csv files and not hard coded into the script. Supervised and
trained a group of 8 Fannie Mae employees on automated testing techniques. This
included installing Winrunner/Xrunner, making test plans/scripts, executing and
analyzing results.
