Oracle Developer (Discoverer, Forms, Reports) – 7/2005 to Present -
Self-Employed
All work completed primarily through telecommuting with visits to client site as
required.
Creation/customization of reports (Reports 6i and 9i) for Oracle 9i database.
Solely responsible for all phases of the development cycle (design, creation,
testing and implementation) for assigned projects. Provided ad-hoc query training
as required. Creation/customization of forms within Oracle 11i Applications
modules: Inventory, CRM, Contracts and Install Base.
Extensive use of both Discoverer Administration and Discoverer Reporting Tools
(Web and Desktop) for the creation of reports to support multiple services (Army,
Navy and Air Force) For the Defense Medical Human Resource System. Creation of
custom reports for the support of Oracle HR Applications on Oracle 10g.
Maintenance performed on both Standard and Applications EULs. Created custom
functions to extend Discoverer functionality as required. Responsible for
migrating from development to test and production instances.
Created T-SQL custom programs supporting SQL Server. Created SQL Server stored
procedures for report generation and forms development supporting a Syteline7
accounting application. Created 25 custom reports using Crystal Reports 9 for
accounting department of multinational firm.
Oracle Forms/Reports Developer – 8/2001 to 7/2005: Oracle Corporation, Reston,

Reports / Business Intelligence Developer: Developed reports using multiple
Oracle technologies (Oracle Reports, Discoverer, SQL, PL/SQL) for end-users,
managers and development staff. Discoverer administration included upgrading the
Discoverer End User Layer (EUL) and setting up summary management. Maintained EUL
across 6 databases that resided on multiple networks. Repaired over 200
inconsistencies existing in workbooks identified by user testing. Created custom
PL/SQL statements for use with Discoverer and Applications (HR, Education &
Payroll). Statements ranged from simple to complex that required advanced
PL/SQL functionality. Created custom reports for the Service Contracts & Depot
Repair modules of Oracle Applications. Corrected inconsistencies of custom
reports for use with CRM applications .
Forms Application Development / Database Administration: Developed document
management system using Portal Release 2. Built portlets using PL/SQL & HTML.
Performance of daily maintenance requirements that included form changes, report
changes and structure changes to database objects for both client/server and
web-based applications. Supported contractor DBAs as required with Discoverer
Administration on the iAS server. Installed/applied Oracle 8 & 8i databases and
patches. Installed and configured Designer/2000. Installed, configured and
upgraded Developer 2000, 6i, & 9i. Installed, configured and upgraded Discoverer
Server 4i and 9i. Installed and configured Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Assisted DBA & developers in migration of Oracle 9i from release 1 to release 2
with upgrade issues and testing.
Oracle Trainer: Instructor of Oracle technologies that included all courses
required in the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA track. Also provided
instruction on Forms, Reports, PL/SQL and Discoverer in the OCP Developer Track.
Class sizes ranged from 3 to 20 students. Instruction was provided to multiple
Oracle Education partner sites within the U.S. Conducted Discoverer end-user
training for 20 on-site personnel in the creation of ad-hoc reports using
Discoverer Desktop and Plus. Conducted user training at 3 satellite locations
(about 45 people) on Discover plus and the functionality of a relational database
(tables, joins, views, schemas).
Developer & Requirements Analyst – December 1996 to August 2001, Dahlgren, VA
Application development of a payroll system. Worked in Forms 4.5 and 6i on
Oracle 7.3 and 8i on an NT platform. Used SQL*Loader to import data from flat
files to Oracle tables and used ODBC drivers to access non-Oracle databases.
Projects included converting existing flat file systems into relational
databases and developing user interfaces that provided user friendly access to
data. Converted Oracle applications (Forms and Reports) from 3.0 to 4.5 and 5.0.
Designed, developed, modified and maintained client/server applications using
object oriented programming (DELPHI 3.0) for use on Oracle 7x. Defined functional
requirements, translated requirements into system design, prepared design
specifications. Lead Requirements specialist for a Department of Defense
Presidential directed (PDD 63) program involving infrastructure asset protection.
Developer of SQL server database in support of program. Liaison between end-users
and interface developers to ensure the specifications of user software
requirements were fulfilled. Projects included the use of Microsoft Access and
Visual Basic 6 for the creation of prototype databases and Visio Professional
for the creation of entity relationship diagrams, context diagrams, and flow
charts.
