My idea is to stop with all the waste of paper at FSI. I have a car overflowing
with name placards for each of the one day to a week long classes I take at FSI.
I could wallpaper a small house with all of the copies of the FSI guidebook that
I am handed at almost every class. If you go to the cafeteria, there are 6
different recycling stations, but when most of us go home, we end up discarding
or never using some of these papers again. Third, why do we have thousand dollar
smart boards, sitting next to two dry erase boards but people still insist on
using the big paper presentation tablets?
First the name placards. There should be dry erase placards (all you have to do
is take a piece of paper, laminate it, fold it and have students fill them out
the day of class). Second, when you notify a person that they have been enrolled
in a course, have FSI send all of the non essential course information in a file
or a link. Third, take away those big paper tablets so people have use the super
expensive smart boards and dry erase boards
