PROJECTS:
A. ON Semiconductor on-line storefront: Avnet is developing an E-Commerce
Storefront for ON Semi to cater to their retail customers that make small
quantity purchases.

B. Flat Fee for Freight: Avnet partners with leading freight providers around
the world, which allows them to select the best provider based on type, value,
service, weight, and destination of the product. This project was to modify the
way freight was charged on orders placed on the existing Customer website. It
encompassed several changes including implementation of flat rates in certain
circumstances, the discontinuation of handling fees and fuel surcharges, multiple
shipment methods in certain circumstances among other items. These enhancements
were expected to increase customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

C. Build Validation Test Scripts: Avnet sensed the need to develop an automated
test harness to validate the each build of their website in the development
environment, this effort was undertaken to provide for a SANITY check and hence
ensure that the build was successful before testing can commence. This helped
bring down the testing downtime after each build. Also, certain test scripts from
this effort were leveraged to run in production environment so that the
operations team can validate the overall health of the website and identify if
downtime is because of code or environment, this helped bring down the number of
defects that were raised to the development team.

E. PMS Hub: Pegasus Solutions provides technology and services to hotels and
travel distributors. It deals with the reservation and distribution services. It
owns the CRS - Central Reservation System, as part of Pegasus’ new strategy
Pegasus is enabling its CRS to operate in one-to-many mode with multiple vendor
PMS - Property Management Systems using the hospitality industry’s standard OTA –
Open Travel Alliance messages. To accomplish this objective it is creating the
PMS - Hub which will allow exchanging data between CRS and PMS using the standard
OTA message formats used by vendor PMS’s mapped to AMF – ASCII Message Format of
CRS.

F. Applicant Tracking & Evaluation System: Boston’s designed this intranet based
system with an intention to track and store applicant profiles for various
positions. Its features included interview scheduling and an ability to submit
electronic review/feedback by the interviewer. Its objective was to make the
process of new hire at Boston simple, electronic, with minimal paper work and
provide security by allowing an interviewer to see only their interview schedules
and evaluations. The system also had supporting features such as 'Pending
Evaluations' and 'Completed Evaluations' to keep track of the applications.
