Wellpoint STAR and WGS systems are the two claim systems of the Wellpoint
Healthcare group. As part of this project the functional processing of STAR and
WGS Claims through a common Claims system was enabled. A single look and feel to
the system was developed for the processing of both STAR and WGS2.0 claims. The
system runs on an IBM Mainframe OS/390. IMS application programs have been
developed that fetch data from multiple IMS DB & DB2 databases. This project
involved reviewing the existing online system (Menus, Screens, Transactions and
Profiles) creating a combination of the functions of the two systems and
developing a new set of online screens, transactions and menus.

The Corporate Individual Rights System(CIRS) application is a functioning
application at Legacy Anthem. The CIRS application system stores privacy
information from members who contact Customer Service. The project involves
modifications of the system to comply with the confidential communication right
invoked by the member. The letters regarding the contract which are now directed
to the subscriber’s address was required to be sent to member’s alternate address
also or only to the member’s alternate address depending on the type of the
letter.

Involved in the release work activities to include new functionalities by
coding/modifying the COBOL/IMS programs and batch Jobs using JCL.

The project was executed for a US based Health Insurance Company. This Project
was intended to introduce National Provider ID by health plans in all electronic
HIPAA transactions which was a federal mandate. The introduction of NPI affected
all the reports, on-line screens, interfaces with vendors, interfaces with rental
networks, infrastructure systems, existing provider look-up systems, provider
enrollment, provider contracting and eBusiness. As part of the NPI Pricing
Project the effects of NPI on the Pricing Screen and Procedures are taken care
and changes are made to all the affected screens as well as code to accommodate
the National Provider ID.

Conseco-OASYS is a mainframe based online annuity application, which supports
both fixed and variable annuities. As part of this project, I’ve provided
services for production support, Production Issue resolution and Ad-hoc queries
to Conseco. The system runs on an IBM Mainframe OS/390. CICS application programs
have been developed that fetch data from multiple DB2 databases.
Contributions
Developed Programs specs and Design documents.
Monitoring the production cycle closely and providing the solution with in
30mins if any abend occurs. Used ABEND-AID, FILE-AID and XPEDITOR effectively in
solving the production abend.
Developed an application for the automation of production job monitoring which
successfully reduced the job’s idle/wait time and improved the system utilization
by 10%.
Provided fixes to the existing production Issues.
Writing new jobs using JCL and standard procedures.
